WWU update: For those keeping track of such things, WWU had more or less come off the list due to EE not being ABET accredited. I emailed the engineering secretary and she said they are at the end of their three-year process and should be accredited in August. I feel pretty secure. The EE department was previously an ABET electronics engineering program and they have other ABET programs. I think we just got stuck in the middle of the change-over (three years – sheesh!). We’re leaving it on the list for now because she really loved it and might be willing to take a small risk.
D got the $15,000 Presidential for UVM. It will probably come off the list. It’s tough to justify a $40,000 COA when CSU is coming in at $23,000 and WWU at $24,000. It’s nice to see UVM is tossing merit around on this thread, but they’re so expensive as an OOS public. Acceptances are always nice though!
@rscgrad, sounds like good news all around on Kent State – congrats!
@eandesmom, while I’m sure the intentions are good (get students more involved), that’s a lot of stress this early for students to decide how to reply to a professor.
@CoyoteMom, grats on UVM. I agree with @eandesmom that UVM and WWU are like our Bama.
@tacocat333 and @CoyoteMom , congrats on GMU honors – I hope the $$ news will be good for both of you!
@kt1969, grats on St. Michael’s. I agree that you may be able to get that bumped up. My oldest D got increased merit from her top choice after contacting them.
@93pilots, congrats on Beloit. Oldest D looked at Beloit and it seems like a really cool place.
@MomStudent2017, congrats on Christopher Newport. I’m guessing ED means he’s done! A celebration and great relief.
@curiositycat333, congrats on U of OR and glad your S is excited!
(Sorry if I left anyone out – I’m behind!)
