Ok who recommended going over to the 2016 thread? A pox on you-I just totally burst into tears over it. :((
I’m going out to do some more yardwork and recover my emotional equilibrium. Man I can’t wait until school starts again (for me). I can only organize/sort/clean/garden/pester kids/fix stuff so much before going bonkers…
College tours for this fall. Only scheduled to visit one for sure UCSC in October. I’m also tempted to add a visit to UCSB. It’s close enough we could take a short car trip one weekend when he’s not involved in band. We will see how crazy he schedule feels. Really wish we had time to visit the Colorado schools, but just not enough time in the schedule for either of us.
@Tgirlfriend I’m not happy about the TAMU 3.5. Its the same as KSU. Of course the fallback for either is the same (KSU at full price) so maybe he’d decide its worth the gamble. I hope not, but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
I take it the following to mean: Send all your freakin’ scores! D17 has two ACTs with the same Composite. One has a better Science sub-score that would increase her Composite if superscored. What would you do, given the following, send one or both?:
OK, that seems abundantly clear. But then they go on to say:
Question: Interviews? My D is so incredibly shy and really does not want to do an interview. She has so much on her plate that I am not sure that the added stress is worth it - and I can’t imagine she will interview well if I have to make her do it.
However Wake Forest has the interview listed as “important” in the college data set. So - do you think a not very good interview is better than no interview?
You don’t know necessarily for sure she will have a bad interview. She may be better than you think. Would also help her with future interviews (not just for college, but internships, jobs, etc.).
School doesn’t start until Aug. 22, and we will be out of the country until Aug. 17. Day to get class lists, ID photo, submit forms is Aug 11. Just got email that they are having a prep session for students taking either AP English class on Aug 15. WAIT, we aren’t ready for summer to end!!!
Haha! @saillakeerie that’s exactly right. She’s a triple-legacy at UofM (which I don’t believe accounts for jack-squat but who knows) so maybe a large thumb will help. This is our one super-duper reachy-reach as far as $$ goes. I think a Stamps is about all that’s gonna be able to allow us to think about it… =))
Perhaps I am a bit cynical @2muchquan, but I read it as: “It probably won’t help or hurt your child’s admission, but if there is some way we can improve our rankings, we would like the scores…”
@2muchquan Coming from a family of Buckeyes, my son was an anti-legacy at UoM. He got in but $0 aid. No way I was paying $160k/180k more for Michigan over 4 years. Good luck to your daughter.
@saillakeerie ACT only allows 8 scores to be sent at a time. I sent one to OSU, but not UofM…for now, since I ran out of room. That tells you have hopeful I am…
