Yesterday D got a text from Hofstra admissions that said that they are busy putting the final touches on her letter and “We’ll send you a text on Friday with some good news.” I’ve heard of Likely Letters, but I think Hofstra just invented the “Likely Text.”
My DD got the same text (and they sent out likely email to me). She was thrilled! She loves a good text message. Her favorite schools so far are the ones with AOs that reached out personally and texted her but she also enjoys good news general texts like the one yesterday.
@mtemmd S20 has applied to George Washington, American University (top 10 IR schools) and University of Denver. DU’s Korbel School if International Studies is highly regarded, just not to the level the top 10 are. Denver is his #1 with American his #2. He also applied to UMN (Twin Cities).

D20 accepted to Nursing at Quinnipiac U this morning with $28K merit. We were warned by folks on CC to apply widely to direct admit nursing programs. I’m thinking now we were a little too worried about results…but it’s a good problem to have. 
Miami University has a great program in addition to a campus in Luxembourg. Numerous other study abroad opportunities. Great merit aid

Today was really the first day S20’s friends starting posting on social media about acceptances. So exciting! I hope it’s not adding to his stress, since he has 2 more applications he wants to complete!
DD received 2 scholarship letters today which confirmed that our state flagship and a nearby private are affordable. Great news but neither is her current top choice so still waiting for news here.

Relax? What’s that @GirlMom01 ? It’s been a wild ride. I’m sure my daughter will be ecstatic to not finish those last 3 RD apps. I confess I’d love to know if she would have been a contender for any of the big merit money at some of her schools, but we knew the pros and cons with ED. I know more than anything she wanted to be DONE. I think it’s the underestimated piece for some kids.
D20 in to her ED college as well! We’re all thrilled, and happy to join the Hamily. (Though H was a bit disappointed there will be no EDII to his alma mater!)
D20 is done. She is officially a Duke Blue Devil! She is thrilled.

DS got into Princeton! I feel bad because so many of his friends were deferred, so we’re keeping it quiet IRL. But on CC we’re allowed to say it. 
Lots of good paths to good outcomes here. It’s wonderful to see how different, kid-centered and kid-driven approaches are all leading to happy results - and WILL lead to happy results for all, eventually. Good luck to the next wave of those who wait.
