I am very superstitious and I think your D24 will get into her ED1 as her sufferings with covid will end with something good and she will have great holiday season. Just wear mask next few days and ask her to stay in her room.

The flu has hit our house. D26 has it. D24 doesn’t have it yet. Fingers crossed that the rest of us don’t get it, but I don’t have high hopes for that. And yes, we all got flu shots. Boo!

Joking aside, I am very sympathetic. S24 had it in early 2022 (we all did–first Omicron wave). Hopefully it works out OK for your family too, but the disruption, particularly with these busy kids, is not fun.

Thank you. We received an email from the academic dean this morning with the plan to make up exams and how it will work with transcripts for college that was well-thought out and comforting. I think the academic side will be fine and I don’t expect she is likely to have any serious health complications. I’m getting ready to leave the hotel and head to the school and of course I am excited to see her! Car is full of blankets and pillows so hopefully she will be able to rest. I’m planning to drive with cracked windows as long as I can stand it (this Florida girl thinks it is very cold in Virginia! )

So very happy to report that S24 was admitted to U Miami this evening. Fall semester, Communications. We couldn’t be happier. Sending good wishes to you all and heartfelt gratitude to the oldtimers and mods who have made these forums so constructive and helpful. I may take a break from CC for a while, but will be sending lots of good karma.
