One school wants a screenshot of her ACT scores from the website but we can’t find where it has her full name and the scores. Everything we have found on the site only has her first name.
Have you tried downloading the score report? You can usually get a PDF. I assume this is true for the ACT, not just the SAT
Yeah, but they will probably still take it. I doubt she would take the scores of a friend with the same name and post those. They will likely want the official version before its a done deal.
I haven’t seen it on the ACT website. I tried sending the report that the school gets (that has her full name on it) but that wasn’t good enough. This particular school wants a screenshot from the ACT website with her full name but I only see screens with her first name.
She is going test optional wherever possible and I am trying to not pay for official scores to be sent but may have to.
Dropping my 2025 at the airport in 12 hours to fly alone for the first time! It’s for an Official Visit (athletic recruit) so I’ll take any good mojo anyone has! This is all starting to really feel REAL!!!
not for an interview, but did for a virtual Info Session!
D25 has her application done for the college she interviewed with on Labor Day. Unfortunately, she can’t submit it until all of her letter of recommendation are uploaded. She’s been waiting for 2 weeks now for the one teacher to do. Most frustrating thing is the recommendation is written the teacher just keeps saying she doesn’t have time to upload it. UGH.
Also, it’s homecoming week this week so that means hallway decorating and costumes every day. I’m exhausted.
We have a similar issue. One of S25’s recommendations was uploaded to Naviance, but the teacher hasn’t completed his Naviance profile so it can’t be submitted to schools. We have been waiting three weeks for this. The GC said it only takes 30 seconds for the teacher to do.
Us too! S25 asked both of his teachers last spring, reminded them in late August and still nothing. There are only 75 kids in his class, I’m sure each teacher has only a handful of these to write. It’s frustrating.
I was impressed with S25s teachers. They turned it around very quickly. S25 requested them in mid August and they both uploaded their recommendations by the end of August. GC uploaded the school report as well, just in a couple of days.
I think it doesn’t hurt to remind them. While it’s understandable that they’re busy, this is also their responsibility (sort of), once they said yes.
C25 submitted their applications before the teacher letters were done. I think they are submitted separately. The college counselors said to not wait for theirs.
As of today, all applications have been submitted!! Teachers and counselor need to do their thing, but S25 is finished on his end, and as I’ve previously mentioned, he already has an acceptance at a school he’d be happy to attend, so I think we’re golden!
When you guys say letters of rec have been “uploaded” is that to Naviance? Are you able to see it there? Or to common app, or the school you have applied to’s portal?
Different high schools have different procedures. Some use Naviance to send all school docs, in which case there should be a field in Naviance indicating something vague about school documents being uploaded (in the Colleges I’m Applying To list) and something under the Common App FERPA tab, probably under counselor rec, with a date of upload, and if I recall, that might apply to the teacher recs as well (I could be wrong, it’s been a while since my older kids’ school used Naviance this way). If the high school has students just use Common App without involving Naviance in uploading docs (even if the high school uses Naviance for other purposes), there would be a separate date of upload in Common App for each recommendation.
For ours in Naviance it will say submitted or requested by the teacher recommendations.
Ours was last weekend. I did nothing but pick up pizzas and show up for the football game.
I meant common app. What is Naviance? Pardon my ignorance. I don’t think S25s school uses that.
It’s like Xello or a program that helps students build a college list, fill out brag sheet, etc
My school mainly uses it to facilitate letters of rec
You can link Naviance to your common app account
