that sounds amazing! S26 is mostly done with schoolwork, so they are mostly just sitting around for the next week and a half, what a waste. outdoor adventures would be so down his alley ![]()
I am also curious who you are using (send a PM if youād rather not name anyone here). My D is also signed up for the June ACT (paper version)

S26 took the AP Chem test and said it was hard and he thinks they didnāt cover much of what was on it. Iāve heard the same from others as well. Oh well. He opted not to take Stats or Music, and I think that was a good decision.
Seniors are done and he now has a few very small classes. Iām going to encourage him to work on his essay and try to have a good draft or two by the end of the year.
Iām looking forward to next year and being done with our schools!
Back from two looong road trips to retrieve my D22 from college. So very tired, and we had some unfortunate driving adventures, but home safely. She is home for the summer, but she needs to figure out what she wants to pursue next. (Double major undergrad degree in social science/humanities doesnāt really lend itself to an obvious job path without grad school.)
D26 has to be at school early tomorrow for AP Calc AB exam. Itāll be nearly 5 hours long because she gets extended time. Is she in bed yet? No, of course not. But she feels pretty solid about this one and has been doing well on the practice exams. (Physics on Friday may be a different story.)
Marching band spring training starts this week.
MIL arrives in town on Wednesdayā¦and then S25 graduates on Thursday. ACK.
(I need to clean my house. Grad party next weekend.)
Happy last week of AP exams!!! ![]()
MY D26 has her Calc AB this morning and Physic C Wednesday afternoon.
She is mad about the test on Wednesday- it is a teacher workday. She thinks she should get another random day off to make up for having to go in on what should be a day off. LOL
Her school had a fire alarm go off on Friday! During the APUSH exam! (there was an actual fire!!!)
D was not taking that test- but so heart breaking for all of the test takers that now have to retake it. ![]()
This is her last stressful week. I cannot wait until it is over.
4/6 of her classes were very Senior student heavy- their last day was last week. So she has already taken the finals in those classes. These next 2 weeks are just some fun fluff assignments to keep them busy.
The remaining two classes are easy for her- so no real stress with those.
Looks like that is just for limited groups? POC, first gen? Not sure -because I could never get the link to open (but that might be on my end)
I donāt know about Bucknell, but yes, usually these paid visits are for members of specific groups that the school wants to encourage.
I will be interested to hear how the AP Calc BC exam went today. D26 last night declared herself ācookedā and asked (jokingly!! jokingly!!) if Iād still love her if she got a 2. I said my investment in her AP score was relatively low ![]()
But the hits keep coming-- Physics C on Wednesday
I canāt imagine taking four hour exams on either of these subjects.
Back home after picking D26 up from school after the AP Calculus AB exam this morning. rest of the school day was going to be study hall and she can just as easily do that at home instead.
D26 said the FRQ section wasnāt too hard. MCQ section with calculator harder than MCQ section w/o calculator. Said teacherās test questions were harder than the actual AP exam questions. Feels pretty confident she got a 3. Counselor said earlier this week that AP scores will be released starting early July. I want to say July 7th?
Kid said sheās a little brain dead after spend 4 hours doing just math this morning. Sheās going to take a break for a little bit and then start in on studying for Spanish and Psychology. No tests tomorrow or Wed, so sheās going to stay home both of those days.
My D has been completely wiped out after each AP test so far. She skips the rest of the day at school, comes home, and immediately falls asleep!
These APs are crazy! D26 also had AP Calc AB and was not pleased with how it went. Sheās in good spirits since weāve been downplaying the impact, but she doesnāt think she did very well on it.
I canāt decide if Iām looking forward to when academics are done and itās ājustā complaining about a job like Iāve been doing for the past 30 years, lol. The academics feel more high stakes even though I know that the job is a continuous series of challenges.
D26 didnāt think the Calc AB exam was too bad ā I didnāt hear specifics, but she said she would be surprised if she didnāt get a 5.
(But then she often overestimates her performance, LOL, so weāll see.)
She does plan to take BC next year, and Iām hoping sheāll find the class much easier than her older sister did. My D22 did not take AB first, went straight into it from honors pre-calc.
I still remember D22 on the morning of her BC exam saying, āPray for no questions on error bound, because who understands what the heck is going on there?ā ![]()
S26 found the calc BC test relatively easy, similar to how he felt about AP Pre-Calculus exam last year, which he had self-studied for. So he thinks he will get 5. However, he didnāt or couldnāt finish the test because he was too tired and so didnāt try hard enough to finish! That leaves me scratching my headā¦. If it was easy, why you wouldnāt finish? I expect heāll at least get 4 as he is generally good in his assessment.
D26 is also planning to take BC next year, but has to do it through an online course. Iām hoping that the beginning is easier since itās hopefully mostly a repeat of AB.
This was my daughter today
She had classes after the AP test- I told her if she wanted she could just head home after the test, I would call in and say she had an appointment. She came home and just passed out. Poor things!!
D26 is jumping straight into BC next year. Hoping sheāll manage. ![]()
D26 has AP Spanish and AP Lang left.
She was commenting on how more relaxed she feels this week than she did during March and April when she was competing, in the thick of recruiting, missing a bunch of school for visits, playing catch up, and studying for the ACT and AP exams.
Who knows, she might have enough time to consider her college options and maybe commit soon.
Interesting how the schools differ. Ours doesnāt allow BC without doing AB first.
