<p>Well, I wanted a user name that gave a little clue as to where I was from, so I chose a name that many locals here use…it was either that one or Jim Rome’s name for it - Crapchestertucky</p>
<p>Since this board is frequented by two very different groups - parents and students - it’s helpful to know which is which. Using “Mom” or “Dad” in your screenname is a simple way to do that. The only other way I saw to do that readily was the “location” descriptor.

<p>Yah, 2forcollege, screennames get slightly outgrown (me too), just like the kids’ jackets. They can still be worn, but they ride up at the wrists. The giveaway is the
“join date” stat under the screenname. There’s no color-rinse to cover that up.</p>
<p>What you do is redefine. “2 for college” – you’re still in favor of college, right? So it still works.</p>
<p>OP- your user name is boring, it has no meaning. The rest of us have intriguing names as we draw conclusions about the poster and sometimes have to discard them when we get further data. Nice thread, though.</p>

<p>I love my user name. I like it so much that I use it on multiple forums. It makes it easy for folks to figure out that I’m the same person from forum to forum. Or maybe it’s because I’m lazy and old and can’t remember multiple usernames.</p>
<p>Rachacha’s name always makes me smile – I lived there for a few years (a long time ago) – it reminds me of the radio announcers and the “Don’t be Buffalo’ed” weather jingles.</p>
<p>Most of us picked our names so that all you little darling children could identify us as parents without having to work your pretty little heads too hard to figure it out. </p>
