does only participation in some science fairs,exhibitions even certain exams count?

If they are like, national finals, or internationals, then obviously it counts. Tell them you participated in a science exhibition organised by your school once (and only) upon a time, and it will be futile.

where in the common app(academic honors, or extracurricular section)does one put stuff like science fair ,exhibitions?

Don’t put participation. It looks pretty novice. You want to explain what your research was about. If you proctored for an exam, then that goes under volunteerism. For common app, the science project would go under “extra curriculurs/activities” (if I remember correctly my year).

one more question::::
as there is space to describe the extracurricular s, can we explain an academic honor too?
explain as in provide details abt the compedition,exam etc.

If there’s anything you feel the need to explain, you can always write it in the ‘Additional Information’ section. You’ll find this under the writing section in the common app. Hope this helps :)
