Watched the first two episodes on line. Good fix.
Question - do I need to go to the PBS website to watch the new episodes? It’s been so long I can’t remember what the routine is. I just know we got caught in endless buffering when we tried to stream the Christmas episode from the PBS website.
Do you have Xfinity (Comcast)? If so, it is On Demand.
Yes, you can watch season 7 of CTM on PBS.org
@swimcatsmom, I’m always in a puddle, too.
Another fail trying to watch. TV connection crashed twice. Maybe if we connect the computer to the tv it will work better. Verizon sucks.
I was having trouble with trying to watch ‘taped from streaming’ shows, and it was suggested to use Chrom rather than firefox. Works most of the time.
@mathmom - I watched in via pbs.org and then used chromecast to watch it on my TV. If you don’t have Chromecase, you can still watch it on your computer. Oh and there is closed captioning on the website so that was helpful.
Our TV supposedly can connect to the web directly, but I don’t think it works very well. We’ll try hook the computer to the TV with cables and see if that is better.
Trixie! So painful to watch her hurt as I called out NOOOO!!!
Yesterday’s episode was a tear jerker, between the young girl and baby going to foster homes and then Trixie, such is life.
Agree, last night’s episode was truly the saddest that I can recall.
I like CTM and I watched it last night but honestly, I think the story lines are getting tired and rehashed. They need more lightness, they need to bring back Chummy or a Chummy like character and give more story lines back to Judy Parfitt and Jenny Agutter. Both seem to have been virtually written out of the show.
It seems that in just about every episode, Sister Monica Joan saves the day!! (Found Magda)
I started thinking that the plot lines were running out of gas two seasons ago and last season for sure. After 7 season they’ve covered just about every form difficult pregnancy and childbirth and every complication of poverty and modern living that one can think of. So now they are bringing back old ones - starting with Trixie’s broken heart and drinking problems.
Just finished watching–can’t poor Trixie ever catch a break? (That said, I think the actress has really done a wonderful job with the evolution of the character.)
It was sad indeed. But I find the plot lines not as intriguing. I thought it was a very weak one to have Trixie tell her BF to go back to his ex wife because the daughter is sad, very unrealistic. Now a 2nd time with love issues. I guess I didn’t enjoy it so much.
Agreed. Not the strongest episode.
So was the baby being placed for adoption, or both the boy and the baby going to be cared for elsewhere?
I do think this episode had a lot of painful topics, which does show real life. I don’t think Trixie could deal with being complicit with the daughter’s pain…her own frailty has the roots somewhere as she identified pretty strongly with the girl’s unhappiness.
I see now why Trixie fell off the wagon and is headed to rehab. The actress who plays her was obviously very pregnant and a little help from Google confirmed that. In fact, the actress who plays Trixie, Helen George, is involved with the actor who plays Tom. I see from the previews that Barbara and Tom are back next week.
