Thanks @SyrAlum!
Thanks @SyrAlum
Our Netflix doesn’t seem to think Call the Midwife exists. When we tried to watch the Christmas special it stalled about ten minutes in multiple times. I really hope we can watch this new series.
Thanks @SyrAlum I just finished Downton Abbey, watched the first season of Victoria, and now needed something else to binge watch and I’ve never heard of Poldark till I saw you mention it. I am hooked!
I also see a new PBS Masterpiece starring Benedict Cumberbatch starting April 1 that could be good, The Child Lost in Time. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/shows/the-child-in-time/. Could be a bit harrowing (about a lost or abducted child), but it might round out Sunday nights after Call the Midwife.
@3js3ks, I recommend Grantchester and Home Fires if you are looking for a new series.
@deb922 Oh geez Netflix and now a new Amazon Prime membership are turning me into a couch potato :> ! I had to put a mini trampoline in front of the tv to keep me moving while I binge watch all these shows! I will check out the two shows you mentioned, thanks for the suggestions.
My DVR schedule shows 2 episodes airing Sunday evening, both new for this season. I mention this because if some of you programmed manually, you may have only programmed one. Make sure you have both, if available, so you aren’t disappointed.
I love that Masterpiece Studio podcast! I highly recommend it:)
Gosh, I love Call the midwife but it seems like I end up in a puddle of tears every episode!
The first 2 episodes of the season were wonderful, per usual. I like the new midwife. All the characters are great and its been nice to see Nurse Crane’s character being more and more developed last season and now this season.
I still wish Chummy would reappear but I guess at this point that’s not going to ever happen.
I really miss Chummy, too. She was my favorite, Trixie is 2nd!
I was nonplussed to find out that I had missed the first episode. What possessed them to run it against the Kansas-Duke overtime and Stormy Daniels?
An alternative for the rest of us?
where did chummy go? I can’t remember why she is nit in the story currently.
JHS, only in your time zone.
I caught the end of the game although we were out to dinner at a local pub style restaurant we go to alot. Big crowd watching at the bar. Maybe missed the first 10 minutes or so of Call the Midwife… really enjoyed both episodes. I think the new character will be a good addition. Wish that both Chummy and Barbara will make another appearance. Will they pick up the storyline about Sr. Cynthia this season - I think that is the character’s name, not sure if she is considered a Sr yet actually.
“where did chummy go? I can’t remember why she is nit in the story currently.”
Miranda Hart, the actress who played Chummy wanted to go off to other acting roles, which she did. The plot line of the show accommodated this by saying that Chummy was reassigned to a mother and baby unit located somewhere else, but presumably not too far way because Chummy’s husband, officer Noakes, remained on the show for another season or two.
The characters I miss are Nurse Jenny Lee, the original main character, and Sis. Evangelina.
I read online that Miranda Hart has had some health issues the past year or two that limited her work schedule.
