YE!
Me!
I miss Chummy. I believe Miranda Hart had some other commitments last season and that limited her involvement, but I hope to see more of her this series.
I recently discovered this show, and I was hooked after watching one episode. I’ve actually been buying seasons through Amazon Prime (usually I stick to the free offerings) and I’m in Season 3. I love being able to switch from watching on my laptop (folding clothes, etc.) to my phone (using my aeropilates).
I love all the characters except Shelagh (former nun). Can’t stand her cloying mannerisms.
I’m watching now. GIVE THAT BABY TO HER MOTHER!
One of my favorite shows. So glad it’s back!
H: Even IF you are watching this show in the other room, I can FEEL the estrogen filling the house.
ME: Can’t talk…too…busy…crying.
Gosh, that was gut-wrenching!

Just finished catching up on this season. Really enjoying the story lines (intense!), the directing, and as usual the characters - although I miss Chummy!
^Chummy is coming back! According to a post on the Call the Midwife facebook page, we will be seeing Chummy during this year’s Christmas special and then as a regular on season 6 next year! Can’t wait… :x
^^ Yippee! Chummy is a delightful character.
Hands down, this is my favorite tv show.
Chummy’s husband was on last night! I was hoping it was a hint that she was returning to the show.
Chummy will be back! We have to wait until the Christmas Special and then she will be BACK next year! And that assures us that the show has been renewed for a 6th season.
Chummy’s husband, Sgt. Noakes, has been on not only last night but quite regularly. He never left.
@Scipio …really? Haven’t noticed him in the last few shows! I’ll have to go back and look!
Sgt. Noakes appeared in 5 episodes plus the Christmas special last season and two more episodes so far this season. All without Chummy. In fact I don’t recall that he even mentioned Chummy in any of those appearances, until last night that is.
I guess I wasn’t paying attention either. Sgt. Noakes had a strong presence in the abortion episode, but I can’t remember him in others. I haven’t watched this week’s episode yet. Like others, I’m excited about Miranda Hart returning as Chummy.
Just finished watching the season finale. I think it’s safe to say that I have shed more tears this season than for the previous four seasons combined. Such a touching finale.
Yes, but so much foreshadowing it was clear what would happen. But such an amazingly well done show. I will miss it until it returns next spring…with Chummy!
Do we know that Chummy will return? It was kind of strange to see her husband there but no Chummy.
