so I got 3 A’s and 3 B+s (in APs), am I f***ed for ED?
I’m pretty sure they don’t see your first quarter grades unless your school specifically sends them. Most don’t. Sometimes, AO’s will call for them if they’re on the fence about a candidate. Decisions come out in a little over three weeks. It’s best to relax and let whatever happens happen. It’s out of your hands now.
If you applied to entrepreneurship at wharton would you be competing againts people who started their own businesses? I mainly never had the resources to start my own business but I interned with a local tech startup. Idk if i will be seen as less qualified by wharton adcoms for the entrepreneurship concentration
@jkman101 Well I guess you would be competing with such people ( I myself run 3 businesses)
But something is wrong - You dont apply directly to the Entrepreneurship concentration, well, you dont apply to any concentration! You just indicate areas of interest. (Also, Entrep isnt offered as a concentration, its offered as a specialization)
@ShaunakK98 I know, but wouldn’t Penn want to compare applicants who had similar interests at wharton? Or do they just compare everyone against each other and see who are the best?
@ShaunakK98 - I am sure you can choose your concentration in your application - I am sure I did
I’m worried that my 670 in math is going to kill me.
I’m going for computer science in engineering college.
- 4.0 GPA -2170 (700 CR 670M WR 800) -dual enrollment for computer science -designed 3 apps for iPhone -published writer (article on importance of subsidization of NASA) -extracurriculars verify that I am not some goober that stays indoors and studies all day
Do you think its possible that they may overlook the 670? Btw I have not been contacted for an interview…
I keep on seeing people post their SAT scores out of 2400, but I’m almost positive that in my information session they said that they were no longer looking at writing and that they would just be looking at the 1600 score. Can someone confirm or deny this?
I read that Penn is no longer looking at the writing ESSAY subscore.
1Beginning with students applying for entry in Fall 2016, we will not require the writing portion of the ACT
2Beginning with students applying for entry in Fall 2017, we will not require the essay portion of the Redesigned SAT
Penn will accept scores from both the current SAT and the redesigned SAT.
We will not require the essay portion of the redesigned SAT.
Current SAT scores will only be superscored with other current SAT results. Redesigned SAT scores will only be superscored with redesigned SAT test results.
Penn looks at your SAT out of 2400. SAT Writing is the equivalent of ACT English. SAT Essay/ACT Writing are no longer required.
@ComputerAge I’m sad to say that we no longer will be non-interview buddies. I was just offered a virtual interview, and I confess I looked him up and he majored in the same thing I would if I was offered an interview.
@jarrett211 Part of me is sad because, you know, misery loves company But I’m happy for you and I wish you the best of luck! It also means there might be some hope for me since interviews are still being assigned this late. Can I ask how you get assigned the interview? (email, phone, etc.)
I also still have not been contacted about an interview Hopefully we hear something within the next few days.
@jarrett211 - All the best. I am sure others will be getting called too. There is still time. I just got offered for an interview at another college (different program) and they want me to be interviewed within 3 days.
How many ED kids do you guys think Wharton admits?
Hi, I’ve been readying this thread for a while and I haven’t commented yet for some reason. I actually got accepted into the class of 2019 but I’m taking a gap year, and I cant stop wondering about who my actual classmates are going to be. I applied RD but Idk if I can help u guys with any questions or whatever. Good luck to everyone
@ComputerAge I was emailed around 2 hours ago from this guy. And I thought that Penn might make an effort to match people with interviewers who majored in similar things, although this guy is from New York, so they had to go pretty far to find one.
An alumni finally contacted me for the interview! Like me, she lives in Southern California. But apparently, she’s in New York for the week so the interview will be over Skype. Any tips for me?
@shivaya I’m 100% sure you only indicate a concentration of your INTEREST/ You don’t outright declare it
