*Penn Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion*

I won’t be able to focus at all in school

the best thing to do right now is to fall in love with your second-choice school.

My interview is scheduled for this upcoming Monday. Does that mean it’s too late for it to make a difference.

@girl1425 Yes, that probably means it won’t make a difference, but remember, it doesn’t make a difference for most people, so you’re not really missing out that much. Depending on how you look at it, your situation is either good or bad.

@Makooks I won’t be either and what sucks is that I have exams :confused:

The problem is all my second choices are also reaches:/ like Dartmouth and UCB

I considered Dartmouth, but ultimately decided
A. I am not a party animal
B. Ski season is only between 25% and 35% of an average year there

Alot of why I like it so much is because of the college-owned skiway honestly and its proximity to outdoor activities like hiking. Guess thats a bad reason to want to go to a college XD

I was thinking, what am I going to do when it isn’t ski season

@Makooks Yeah I feel you. What really is a good idea though is really get hyped about one of your match schools, if possible. I feel like that has been the biggest thing that has kept me pretty much worry-free these past few months.

@TheWaffleMan149 I love to ski. Unfortunately, I don’t like small schools. I don’t want to be in a rural area. I want to be in a city. And I kind of condemn people who drink and party, so that probably isn’t a good fit. A few ski trips would not make up for four years at Dartmouth.

@thewaffleman149 Exactly!!! If I couldn’t snowboard i literally wouldn’t know what to do because I’m not a big partier…

Ya I guess its kind of a high match but really love UVA too so crossing my fingers for that if Penn doesn’t work out.

Got to visit Penn today and it just made me sad because I absolutely love everything about it and getting rejected would suck. Maybe I should have waited to buy apparel until after the decision but I couldn’t help myself.

@jarrett211 @Makooks Agree 100%

@Makooks Same, I vowed to not buy any apparel from colleges I’m applying to until I get in but I just ordered so much Penn stuff from ivysport (those black friday deals sucked me in). Let’s hope this doesn’t jinx us lol

@sillyface Haha. I have purposely refrained from ordering any Penn apparel out of superstition. I have a Columbia sweatshirt. I have purposely refused to wear it for the last six months out of superstition.

Welp. Looks like I jinxed myself.
Well atleast I got comfy sweats out of it.

I haven’t touched any Penn merchandise in several months, although my brother and dad have Penn shirts that they have been wearing regularly D:

When we were in the bookstore today my dad was like show me some things you want for Christmas, and I literally had to ask him to stop because there’s a good chance that that won’t happen.

I live within an hour of Penn, so the first thing I plan on doing if I get accepted is speeding there to buy every article of clothing they have

well I just hope my number twos work out––Columbia and NYU XD…screwed. NYU will probs be took expensive anyways.

Me and my friends are getting really salty, too: if our dream schools don’t take us, we’re just going for great grad schools and not even considering the undergrads that denied us cuz f them :slight_smile:

@nodaysoff97 We have the same top 3! :slight_smile:

Another random question. Did anyone who’s applying to BU Honors (Kilichand) choose the “Education is…” prompt? Can any of you give me some ideas of how to write this lol? I’m kinda blanking.
