I’ve googled and found this and decided to join in on this excitement. My dear daughter I think has PSU main campus as her number one choice, but I, her father, live 7 minutes from the campus so I think I’m probably more invested than anyone that she get in, I’d like another 4 years. Her stats seemed pretty middle of the road from the stats I’ve seen online, but not as high as the stuff I see on the acceptance students on this so far. Coincidentally I got the annual alumni gift request from PSU today and am obviously completely on the fence at the moment as to how I feel about them

Waiting anxiously over here too! My son is TO, 3.78UW, 4.38W, 9 APs/9 honors and good ECs with leadership in school and county. He applied for Smeal so I don’t think he’ll be accepted to UP in the fall, but put summer as his second choice. My husband and I are both alums (met in Happy Valley) so hoping we have another Nittany Lion! He was accepted to the University of South Carolina on Friday and is ready to put down a deposit but won’t do it until this decision comes out just in case.

I think they saved TO for Smeal last. My son is TO too.
Smeal application here. Son was just deferred to January 31.

If I were to get deferred, (Which I don’t know if they are still handing those out) Would it be beneficial for me to send in first quarter grades? Moved W GPA from a 4.07 to a 4.15 in Q1.
No, Penn State doesn’t look at any mid year grades

Depends on who you talked to. If you spoke with an actual admissions rep then this information is likely correct and the last deferrals are just trickling in. If, however, you spoke to the person who answers the phone, then it’s anyone’s guess as they don’t often have the most up-to-date information. I’d be surprised if the deferrals are over just given how many come out down to the wire historically. But anything is possible.
He is in AP Calc AB and AP stat right now. He wanted to increase his rigor this fall and it was challenging with a longer football season, etc. He is in at IU but would have to petition to Kelly because he did not send scores. Did your son/daughter?
About 20 mins ago. Stats 1400 sat, 4.1 gpa, 4.3 weighted. 4 APs and 12 honors. Will have to decide if worth contacting admissions tomorrow and ask to be reconsidered for DUS. Or once deferred are you deferred until Jan 31 no matter what you do?

Waiting for Smeal here too, but my daughter provided SAT results so not TO. Not sure what to make of the silence since others have heard UP acceptances, deferrals and 2+2 Acceptances. I’m thinking no news is good news so far, but who knows!

I don’t understand the late in the day deferrals I was told they were done with them.
