Hey all! Anyone not able to log on to the site today ? Just keeps spinning and spinning …
OOS and Test Optional DUS here… had the #PSUbound blurb yesterday, trying to see if it is still present this mornign…UP as pri. campus… DA elsewhere would override a 2+2 for an aspiring Smeal student. OSU, MSU, UMICH?,UTK, IU, WISCO, UGA, UT Austin all to play for.
good luck !
It’s super slow!
Blurb is not there today, I’m sure admissions monitors boards like these…also, I was able to get into portal on a PC and not phone (as I usually do)
PSU Harrisburg is ABET accredited in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
I was just coming here to ask if anyone has heard about Communications majors yet. I haven’t seen any.
There are a few direct enroll majors. My daughter applied for the B.Arch. program and hasn’t heard yet. It’s only offered at UP.

WOW 360!!! UCLA only has 40 seats for Nursing…
As time goes on, I’m now a concerned parent. Twins, one accepted UP, other awaiting. Months back, admissions told me they would know “approximately” same time. It’s been almost 10 days. Oh well, I have to set up expectations here. Venting…the process is frustrating. I’d say 90% of the kids in their HS already received a decision.
We are in state, son had 3.8 and applied TO to DUS and checked summer start (fall preference). He got Altoona, but has no interest in going there. Totally excited about other options–confident that he will land where he’s supposed to
Yes, those are solid stats and I’d think they would receive UP…somewhat unfair, but so is life. Of course I don’t know how your HS is viewed internally at Penn State.
My one twin was admitted a month ago. Still no word on the other who applied to Smeal. I just figure it’s because Smeal is much more competitive.
Some kids might want to check College of Agriculture Science majors…at one time it was thought a less competititve path to acceptance…Majors — Academics — Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences
Some really interesting areas of study that are very relevant in today’s world.
That’s awesome. I will talk to my son when he gets home. Good luck to you! I pray you get in! Revert back when you find out.
by way of asking for reconsideration, I’ve been told that DUS is the 3rd most competitive major after Smeal and Engineering (not including direct entry majors like nursing). So moving from Comm to DUS won’t move the needle, unfortunately.
I think the different comm majors have different “competitiveness thresholds”, within Bellisario and Comm BA/BS in CLA (or even one of the options of Human centered design in IST) would be less competitive than Bellisario.
I think this would be easier to get into for a student interested in the technical side of communication (also, great ROI)
This I think is one of the easiest majors to get into

You’d have to look into ROI or add the Smeal minor.
This has TOPNOTCH ROI - half Smeal half Ag/science

Someone interested in communication, communities, and the environment might like one of the 4 pathways
https://agsci.psu.edu/academics/undergraduate/majors/community-environment-and-development
For s.o interested in science (with a solid background in bio&chem) who wants MUCH better ROI than the general biology major … and who may like ice cream…

Hi all…just checking to see if any Architecture majors are have heard anything. Thanks.
Same here…ugh.
Hang in there.
If you’re too nervous, look into all the wonderful majors&minors and try to find one you like as much as your 1st choice.
