Penn State Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

Ok mine is unchanged.

Same. Unchanged here as well

Yes it’s a choice….check and play along or decide it is too frustrating and wait until the date set.

no change here either-sigh

So you can write a long post complaining but when someone posts a thoughtful response you reply with rudeness?

Those of us who have been here a long time are here because we have had kids go through the application cycle. I’ve had three go through it and we all survived.
My first child that went to Penn state had to wait 5 MONTHS for a decision. There was no EA. We’ve been there and have been through worse.
Some people like our help. Some want to dismiss us and call us irritating. I couldn’t care less about the latter. You will be gone next year and there will be a whole new class here that needs answers and we will be here giving it to them. That you don’t LIKE the answers is beside the point.

Son was accepted four days ago. We just found out today when the letter came in the mail. He apparently looked it up on the portal on 12/11 but said he was too busy to tell us about it. He completed the application process on his own, and since he’s so independent, I didn’t feel it was appropriate to ask him for access to his portal. Instead, I’ve just been here waiting for the mail every day.

Very grateful for your thoughtful and informative responses, as well as for your maturity and graciousness. Much need in this world, never mind these forums.

No offer to commonwealth campus? What major?

Does it say deferred from which campus? Did he apply UP? I didn’t even think of the option of deferral! :face_with_spiral_eyes:. My daughter was just deferred from UofSC and Fairfield. We have interview scheduled at Fairfield, which honestly is all she’s missing so hoping for the best! If she gets into UP it’ll be a hard choice tho!!

My daughter was deferred at Fairfield too! And we did the interview as well as a tour on a different day. Stats comparable to others from her school who got admitted but so many kids applied from our school I think it hurt her.

@ALmomma my S24 was also deferred. The portal for us also says decision by 1/31. And BOTH parents graduated from PSU. Sigh.

he applied to UP. he said no to summer. he’s applying for statistics… Eberly college. maybe it’s better than being offered an alternate campus? he def only wants UP…

What major?

@luvmykids1 Pre-med. I guess I’m just surprised that he wasn’t offered 2+2 as opposed to deferred, but it’s all good. The waiting drives us all crazy.

Can someone post a picture of what there portal looks like with the deferral

Yes my daughter did biobehavioral health and I’ve seen slim to nothing on it! I think a deferral would be better than 2+2 if UP is top choice?
