There is no unweighted. His classes were all accelerated, honors, and AP - no general. His course load definitely demonstrated rigor - AP Calculus, Multivariable Calculus (A’s in both).

He declined the summer option but did put alternate campus choices. Not sure which is better, deferral or 2 for 2. Leaning towards deferral as more desirable option in his case

applied to UP for Criminology with four APs all with passing scores, five DE, and the rest honors classes
I am last year and this years current Educators rising state ambassador and my chapters president for EDU rising and Fccla. I also worked two jobs the past two years while doing track and field and doing over 60+ hours of community service and being in NHS and Tri-M.
Applied Early action on 9/12 and haven’t heard back yet. I just want some confirmation EA decisions can be sent out at random between Nov 1 and Dec 24, PSU is my first option and i’m getting really nervous that I’m not going to get in and I’m never going to know.
Based on other posts I think the test optional button disappears when the application is pulled for review.

I feel like my TO button will stay with me forever, every time I click the refresh button and think it’s gone, it’s right there starring me in the face kinda like a stalker……

Just an FYI: If you are TO, your button does not ever disappear. (At least ours didn’t). It is still there after our acceptance, too.

TO button disappeared and have access to Lionpath but can’t for the life of me find where the info theoretically is within Lionpath. Frenetically about to search the thread…

I GOT DEFERRED FROM UGA AND AS STUPID AS IT SOUNDS I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT!! Being from out of state a deferral from early action is a lot better then the rejection I assumed i’d be getting.

The last two years, yield has been higher than expected and Admissions has had a larger class as freshman at UP. They may be holding some of the candidates to see what the pool looks like in RD. Since freshmen must live on campus (unless local and exempt), this placed a burden upon housing. More people than planned were placed in temporary (i.e. overflow) housing. There were even a small number of students with no assignment and as kids declined within a few weeks of starting in August, they were slotted into rooms.
Admissions may be being cautious as to not overshoot the mark again.
So, yes, the deferrals may be real. Admissions is still working. If they “didn’t have time”, why would they post deferrals now?

It was a joke based on the screenname this person posts under. Because I had specifically said certain advice isn’t helpful to hear repeatedly. So repeating that advice in direct response was… not super helpful.
Yes, you and Lucy Van Pelt and others have been very helpful on this board. No doubt about that. But the repeated advice to just not check the portal until December 24 just isn’t that helpful when those of us with kids in the thick of it are having a hard time, with classmates who all already have decisions, etc. I’m sorry if that’s hard for you all to accept, but that’s just the honest truth that some of us are dealing with.
Now we find out PSU is deferring. Good God. I appreciate the provision of advice but IMHO PSU administers a lousy admissions process. That’s not an insult to you or others who provide advice about how to navigate the lousy process.
