Also waiting Engineering - high GPA and high rigor, took all APs offered and all honors, multi-sport, leadership ECs, volunteering, etc but went TO. Hoping to hear back soon.
We are still waiting over here as well. Has anyone heard with Criminology Major? I agree that it seems to go by major.
My daughter applied Criminology and is still waiting.

No response for DS25. 4.0GPA / 4.9QPA. 1460SAT (took once Nov '23). Valedictorian (likely). Biomedical Engineering. Two sport varsity. Class VP. Volunteer Awards. Work. Shadow. Etc.
Crickets ā¦ which is uniqueā¦ b/c older brother two years prior notified early November to the same major ā¦ and odder yet DS25 submitted application about 30 days earlier. Not critical of the admissions department, just goes to show each year is different and cannot be predicted. Everything works out for a reason.

We are waiting on the same thing, as is my sonās classmate. I have yet to see a TO acceptance for Engineering.

does anyone how long reconsideration typically takes? any past experiences?
I know we will all know within the next 2 weeks, but its slightly concerning that other kids from my S25s high school that applied for engineering have already heard. His 35 ACT score may not be enough to make up for his 3.9wGPA especially when compared to other kids at his large public school. He did not put summer start either - I wonder if thatās part of the delay.

Last year, a lot of applicants were simply deferred to January as PSU was not able to process all applications by Dec 24th. So, I wonāt assume a guaranteed decision in 2 weeks.

I think they might have to go thought more consideration into your math skills? I also applied TO for engineering and havenāt gotten anything but fingers crossed because everything is supposed to come out before 12/24z

I would stay optimistic.
In the meantime, you can ask him, if push comes to shove, whether heād be willing to start in the Summer (if youāre able/willing to pay for it - itās a big added expense) and look through the majors Penn State offers to see if another major would be a good substitute - thereās Engineering in Mineral Sciences and in Agriculture, plus CS/Data Science majors in IST.

It may have been Reddit where I saw it. Giving us all a good lesson in patience. I think my child is handling it better than me

I got accepted into PSU UP.
Term: 2025
College: Smeal College of Business
Intended Major: Finance
Resident: Out of State
It looks like a direct admit as they didnāt mention anything about pre major or etc in my offer letter. Can someone help me out with this? I just want to know if Iām a direct admit or not.

I also forgot to mention that I applied EA. I believe I applied on the same date of the EA deadline. My decision came a few days back.
