Justice has been served. Now the civil suits will begin, and the investigation as to how liable Penn State was, in allowing this to happen for so long.

Oh, thank goodness the justice system worked this time. And bless those jurors.

I’m watching Karl Rominger on CNN right now try to state that they may base an appeal, in part, on the lack of continuances granted. Jeffery Toobin is ripping into him. “You really think someone convicted on 45 counts of child molestation is going to get a conviction overturned because you didn’t get a delay?”

good people performed an honorable service for these young men. God bless them all

and this earlier today…

<a href=“Msgr. William Lynn of Philadelphia Is Convicted of Allowing Abuse - The New York Times”>Msgr. William Lynn of Philadelphia Is Convicted of Allowing Abuse - The New York Times;

wonder if this other verdict will influence the perjury lawsuit, as this was a first

“Msgr. William J. Lynn, a former archbishop’s aide, was found guilty Friday of endangering children, becoming the first senior official of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States to be convicted of covering up child sexual abuses by priests under his supervision.”

Sandusky’s co-counsel is on CNN. Sounds as though this is not over.

I was the victim of child molestation and my abuser never paid for his crimes. I hope the victims in this case get some amount of closure over this. My support and heart go out to all of them.

And to echo someone up thread, those who turned their head on this have blood on their hands as well. I hope they never find peace.

I am so sorry to hear that, romani. It makes me sick to think of how many children have been victimized in this way. I hope that this verdict helps the accusers, the second set of Sandusky victims waiting in the wings, and all other victims of abuse.

For those who suggest that he might get killed in jail, I don’t think that is likely. This is the type of defendant who will be placed in isolation and have no contact with other prisoners just because the prison system is aware in this type of case that other inmates will not take kindly to this type of defendant. Additionally, he will be placed on suicide watch and all manner of things which he might use to commit suicide will be removed. Unfortunately, the prison system is quite knowledgeable about these type of defendants.

I’m glad the jury found S. guilty. How could he not be? It is truly sad to think this wasn’t stopped years and years ago. How many have allowed this to continue?

The attorney is getting wrung out in public.

“We had a good jury.” - attorney

Hmm…

So much for the speculation that a jury from the Penn State area would acquit him.

OMG–Shut his lawyer up now!!! He’s speaking to the press and spouting crap. How dare he speak about Matt Sandusky!

Honestly, if I was that defense attorney, I would worry for my safety. It’s sad but true. There are enough nutcases out there.

Please, in absolutely no way take that to mean that the attorney deserves anything. FAR from it. The only person who deserves anything is Sandusky. And he will get it. But I am rational, many people are not.

His lawyer just said the the defense was " flying by the seat" of their pants many days. Hey, he’s the guy I want defending me.

I bet McQueary is under guard too.

MD, when there’s that amount of evidence against you, I guess no good attorney will take you?

Love that beautiful, happy little boy playing in the background behind Mr. Amendola as he spoke just now.

Nice to see a happy, smiling little guy, living his life. As all those boys should have been able to do.

Amen to that.

I am just amazed by what those lawyers said. They definitely were swimming against the current.

Any word on which 3 counts he was acquitted on?

eloquent, intelligent and sincere speech by Linda Kelly Pennsylvania District Attorney

I was also appalled by Amendola maligning Matt Sandusky, just shut up!
