LasMa, I did catch that.

I’m glad that those who did the cover-up are starting to pay as well. I will always be adamant that they have just as much blood on their hands, if not more.

A couple of gems uttered by Amendola during his interview with Anderson Cooper,

When asked what happens now, he replied that tomorrow he will gather his wits… (a daunting task, if you ask me).

Talking about Sandusky’s insistence of his own innocence, Amendola said something like “None of us were there when he made these mistakes…”

OMG. What a complete moron. I don’t think he is trying for incompetent representation. I think he is to stupid to even think along those lines.

I assume the attorney is mostly referring to the pro forma motion to ask the judge to set aside the verdict. Common. Rarely granted.

An allegation of pretrial publicity is silly; the state requested a change of venue, which was denied, not the defense. You can’t argue prejudice in the jury pool if you didn’t make the motion to change the trial’s location.

I think Spanier, Schultz and Curley should take note…they are likely more than a little worried right about now

Look Amendola got his then 16 yr old client pregnant, to him good ol’ Jer’s actions were mere mistakes. sickening really.

More, romani.

Penn State’s official statement includes the following transparent attempt to stave off lawsuits:

In other words, Penn State’s priority at this point, as always, is to protect Penn State. I’d bet that “privately” means there will be a non-disclosure clause in the settlements so that no victim will know how much any other victim gets.

And I wonder if Sandusky’s other victims, who probably number in the hundreds, will get a “fair” hearing from Penn State. I’m guessing not.

Success with honor, indeed.

Amendola has vanity plates. Did anyone else see that? I think the plate was JMA ESq. A neighbor who is a lawyer says he would never get vanity plates because he does not want people to identify his car easily. I wonder whether Amendola will regret it.

“to facilitate the resolution of claims against the University arising out of Mr. Sandusky’s conduct.”

notice it says, arising out of Mr. Sandusky’s conduct. as opposed to arising out of Penn State’s lack of reporting of said conduct.

“Expeditiously…” Yes, I’m sure the school is very eager move quickly and put all this behind it - so that it can be done with all the distraction and get back to focusing on its real reason for being: Football!!

Romani, the same thing happened to me over a period of years beginning when I was 11, and I feel the same way you do. The man died not that many years ago, in his late 90’s – well-respected, pillar of the community, all of that. I admit that I felt relieved, even after all those years, when I saw his obituary.

"'m glad that those who did the cover-up are starting to pay as well. I will always be adamant that they have just as much blood on their hands, if not more."

Now that they’ve dealt with the sick scum, maybe they’ll go after the criminal scum.

Sandusky is criminal as well. sorry, but I don’t see sociopathic predators as sick, I see them as evil.

People who are sick often seek treatment; people who are evil…not so much.

if he was sick he would have been begging these young men for forgiveness, rather than putting them through this trial. he is incapable of empathy for what he’s done, and to read he and Dottie were “crushed” by Matt’s accusation. as if he too is making it up, part of the conspiracy.

I like this cliche. Well. His evil acts were not visible in the past 15 years. He only looked like a wonderful man to all people around him. Why his emotion should be visible now?

To me, he just looked bewildered. I think he still doesn’t get it.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, this thread has been moving so quickly.

Is anybody else as disgusted with Dottie S as I am? There is NO WAY in HE** that she didn’t know what was going on, yet she stood by her man, I mean pedophile husband. She didn’t think anything was up that her husband was in the basement with boys, spending unusual amount of times with them? What, were their no girls in Second Mile that could have used some mentoring, assuming things were on the up and up? Dottie was in the house, could a girl not have spent time in that wholesome family home for a weekend? Noooo, just boys.

Sandusky is a scum sucking perv. Dottie is an accomplice, and should be prosecuted for endangerment of a minor.

Kind of the same thing that wife of that recently caught crime lord (whitey?). THey are so zoned in on their “loved one” they do not see it as a wrong.

Glad to see he was declaired guilty.

I go to bed early one Friday night, and all hell breaks loose!

Glad to see Sandusky’s freedom ended. I find it curious, though, that the jury decided Not Guilty on the McQueary victim’s involuntary sexual deviate charge, but Guilty on the janitor"s victim.

Are there any lawyers here who have an idea on how that Not Guilty will affect the perjury trial?
