Pennsylvania College for Computer Engineering

I’m looking for a local college where I can graduate in Computer Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree. I have yet to take the SAT (a week from now). I’m a junior and my current GPA is 3.4 - almost 3.5, I’m doing the best I can to raise it up. I am currently taking an AP Biology class and plan on taking AP US Hiostry next year. I only did a sport for my Freshman and Sophomore year. I’ve taken 90% honors through high school so far. I’m looking for a college/university that would not be too expensive as the financial situation for me is not exactly great if you follow me. But the thing is, I don’t know any colleges / universities around besides having heard about them. What’s the best way to look?

P.S. Also, what are some ideas of community service that I could do around to make my application look better? Basically any work I do free of charge will be counted community service?

Thanks in advance

Some PA colleges that have your major are Drexel, Bucknell, Lehigh, PSU, York and Elizabethtown. Elizabethtown is religious affiliated, however they do not rquire you to take religious courses or to attend church services. Both Elizabethtown and York are supposed to be very good with financial aid. I think your grades (along with most of your classes being either honors or AP) look good. Also, so does the 2 year sport committment. Some community service ideas would be volunteering at a local hospital, participating in various health related walks/events, volunteer ambulance, soup kitchens, etc. Also, the best way to look would be to sign up on each schools mailing list and also visits the schools that you like the best. Good luck on your SAT.

PSU, Drexel, CMU probably have the best computer science programs in the state
