I’ve heard of measure twice (or more), cut once.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
Solitude is enjoyed only when one is at peace with oneself (I definitely enjoy my own company, LOL!)
“The force that created the mountains and the oceans and seas, also created you.”
A couple of favorites…
The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.
Get busy livin’ or get busy dyin’.

I am a teacher and we are driven by data, data, data… This hangs above my desk and is also on the top of every page of my plan book and grade book:
“Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted” – it helped when keeping the college search and selection process in check as well
Don’t sweat the small stuff
“When I point a finger at you, three are pointing back at me.” - What role am I playing in creating this situation I am complaining about?
“When people show you who they are, believe them.”- Maya Angelou
And I have amended a Beatles title…“All you need is love, love is all you need…along with coffee and an adult beverage.”
funny one from W.C. Fields- You can always reach your goals if you set them low enough.

I have 2 magnets that suit me:
“I can survive any crisis. I have kids.”
“Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.” (I wish my health concerns didn’t stop me from doing this more often).
I love this thread.
Growing up, we heard “A word to the wise is sufficient” from my dad a lot.
But given my username, I should probably go with “Bark less, Wag more!”
Work hard. Be kind. Laugh a lot.
@gouf78 (#36): grandpa would never have said ain’t, and it was a family saying in the 19th century before Heinlein was even a twinkle in his parents’ eyes. :-*
Inspired by this thread, I took a poster board and my colored Sharpies and made a poster. I put it in our waiting room. One of my patients suggested I add a Yoda quote, which I did. Until 4:00,:everyone liked it. Then a patient protested, and it was put away. Too bad.
@bookworm Protested about what? I love this thread, so am curious about what someone doesn’t like…
Who knows? Not my patient, but our office manager brought it to me to,put in my office. I encourage people to think of mottos or good things in their lives, and I supply 3x5 cards to write them on. Many of the mottos mentioned we have used, but there were many new and terrific ones. I brought in a second, poster board, to add on ideas. To me, it’s a shame, because how you think affects how you feel and act.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. — Winston Churchill
Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things. — George Carlin
Health, wealth, love … and time to enjoy them — traditional toast from South America
First time, on time, one time.
Attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind
It’s a slow process, but quitting won’t speed it up.
Failure isn’t falling down, it’s remaining where you’ve fallen.
Be strong when you are weak, brave when you are scared and humble when victorious.
Live. Fate loves the fearless.
I needed that today. Thanks.
