Peta asks for breast milk icecream

(and I like your h’s sense of humor, srw!)

PhysicsMom, I think breast milk has enough fat for cheese. How do I know this? A few years ago, at the Museum of (very) Modern Art here in NYC there was an exhibit consisting of a small, glass-fronted refrigerator. Inside the fridge on a saucer was a piece of cheese made from the breast milk of the artist and her friends.

I love art, don’t you all?

My suggestion for the flavor: TTFN (ta-tas for now…)

So far we have

Milk 'n Mommy Swirl
Pump it Up Lactation Creation!
Udder Mudder’s Chemical Trace Surprise
Yummy Mummy (served with Chubby Hubby)
Titti Frutti
Mammilla Vanilla
melon-colic
TTFN (ta-tas for now…)

Chocolate Nip
Breast of Show

Boob Berry
Mountain Magic
Heavenly Hills
Poetic Justits

Myrtle’s Curdles (or would that be cheese?)

Apparently this is already being done in certain test markets. The milk supply is being imported from Mexico and other Latin American countries, where women have more children and are more willing to sell their milk. Ben & Jerry’s is marketing the flavor as “Cherry Garcia”.

Egads, I’m almost afraid to post, but here’s my pump story.

Rushing to the airport in pre-9/11 days, I dropped wife and infant Lake Jr at the curbside check-in with the luggage while I drove like a madman to long-term parking, with Lactation Machine in tow. Wife and kid were already boarding by the time I made it to the security gate. Female security officer had a not very friendly look of confusion on her face when I placed the pump on the counter. Ms. Sourpuss demanded to know “what’s that?” I said “its a lactation machine.” A blank stare. Nothing. Nada. I began to laugh when a male (young fella by the way) officer approached the counter, also smiling and laughing and waved me through, past Ms. Sourpuss, who remained as clueless as a doorknob.

The ice cream flavor names in this thread are hilarious! :D

As someone who lives in Ben and Jerry’s country…uh, we have plenty of cows and there is no shortage of milk. In our state, cows outnumber the people.

When my son was a baby, I had an overnight meeting and needed to express milk for 24 hours. My battery operated pump ran out of juice (no pun intended) around midnight BEFORE I could express more than a drop. I was staying at the Hay Adams hotel in DC, very upscale and small, and had to call down to the front desk to ask if they had any batteries or could send someone out to an all night store. They said not to worry. About 10 minutes later, there was a knock at the door and a young man in a valet uniform handed me two loose batteries of the correct size. He refused to let me pay or tip him and when I tried explaining how grateful I was since I was in extreme physical distress without the pump, he practically flew down the hall to get away from my door!

The next morning, I stopped at the desk to pay for the batteries and leave the poor fellow a tip and a thank you note. The front desk manager laughed and explained that the valet had taken the batteries out of his own walkman! Poor guy! I hope he recovered!

^ Aw, great story. I wonder how many moms on here can imagine their son as the generous and embarrassed valet!

I can’t think of any names. You guys are so creative! Great thread to wake up to. :D

Human milk would make pretty lousy ice cream. The butter fat content is way too low.

Booble Gum
Colostrum Crunch

Mama Cream Split

Double Jug Dynamite

Mudder Udder Delight

Bosom Buddy

Everything But the Cow

Lacteous Gluteous

Milky White Supreme
