Peta asks for breast milk icecream

I Must Get to Work…
(that one is not an ice cream flavor!!!)

Boobie Smoothie

When I was in the hospital the lady in the bed next to me wasn’t allowed to breastfeed her baby because she had a Herpes cold sore on her lip. Just think of all the diseases that could be passed around.

I think that the simply thought of using breast milk from the lady down the street in my ice cream is bizzare. Even if it did get past the FDA I would not touch it. This would change my opinion on homeade ice cream. Maybe we should have seen it coming with the name “Dairy Queen”. Would that name stay the same? And what would a milkshake be called? Shimmy shake? Mommy Malt?

Yes and Shyanne has a good point! I dont want Herpies & Cream!

Violadad, I literally sprayed coffee on the keyboard when I read “Poetic Justits”.

Soozie and Baseballmom, hilarious ones.

Last night I posted then deleted cuz I thought I was being too risque, but after some of those apparently not:

Chocolate Milkjugs

garland…ha ha, I missed Poetic Justits…that is so funny.

I like yours too.

Ok, here’s one (this is such a distraction!!)…

Boobalicious

So why don’t people buy a ice cream maker and make ice cream for their own kids?

I have avoided this thread for a couple of days because I thought the idea was disgusting. Now I’ve read the whole thing, and I am laughing so hard at the names and stories that I’ve cried off all my mascara!

I breast-fed both sons until they were 2, because S1 has life-threatening food allergies, and S2 probably doesn’t because I avoided all foods to which S1 was allergic while I was pregnant and nursing, and breastfed him exclusively until he was a year old. When he got to be 8 months, his appetite was huge, and he was back on a newborn schedule, nursing every 2-3 hours. It was worth it - no Epipen and reading labels for him.

I used a hospital-grade, heavy metal breastpump both times, because the dainty one I bought did not work for me. I had to take a couple of trips to Canada while nursing, and going through security and customs was quite the experience. I would pull the pump along on a roller, and put it up on the security belt. The agents would gaze at it, trying to figure out what it was, and finally ask me. The first couple of times, I would say, very quietly, feeling embarrassed, that it was a breast pump. Then I got over being embarrassed, and started announcing loudly that it was a breast pump. It was so much fun to watch the businessmen in line react with horror, and run off to other lines. One time the agent was puzzled by it, and called over another agent. When I said that it was a breast pump, they gazed at it for a little longer, then one of them pointed to the sticker on it, from the lactation consultant who rented it to me, and said, “It’s OK, see? Lactation consultant. It IS a breast pump.” I guess the way to get a bomb through security is to put a lactation consultant’s sticker on it!

Holy Cow (as in HOLY COW, it’s breast milk, and Holy Cow, from the POV of PETA )

When Mom Freezes Over

oh, that’s good, roshke.

I think Ben & Jerry should change their names to Jen and Mary and stick breast pumps on themselves if the think it is such a good idea! then it could be considered “homeade”.

Boobberry Ice Cream

If the donors dance before they pump it can be ‘homechurned’

You guys are cracking me up!!!

By the way, Ben and Jerry sold the company, so they don’t work there any longer.

Titan88-
I had to laugh-- when I saw your screenname I though it was tit-an and then the 88 looked like boobs. I need to take a break from the computer!!! LOL!

Roshke-- great names!! (and HI! )

Lactation Creation (did somebody already say that?)

jym - if your boobs look like that you need a better bra!

Much more fun thread than I thought- PETA, aargh… They make fat free ice cream, so no problem with that. India has cow’s milk ice cream, as well as sacred cows (and yogurt, gee from butter…their cows have 9% butterfat, unlike our “measily” 4%) so I don’t get PETA’s point at all. I was the qns (quantity not sufficient) mother of a premie- I tried and tried to pump but never got much so I quit after a few weeks, and son never was able to breastfeed successfully. So it was with mixed feelings that I read the posts- thank all of you for the ones that help erase those bad memories. Sorry to be the downer- keep up with the outrageous ideas…

Caramel Cleavage
Banana Bust

This concept gives a whole new meaning to the old “Cup or cone?” question.
