<p>I’m a PETA member.
I respect everything they do to try and save animals. When you try to do something that you love, you will go to any measure to get it done.</p>

<p>and PETA does help animal shelters. We do not help places that breed animals, large chain places were they bring up animals so that they can be slaughtered.</p>

I’ve thought about it. Currently, my health would be in danger if I did, but I definitely understand and respect the morality of it that others hold.</p>

<p>If one was to be a member of PETA wouldn’t that person need to be vegan? Because vegetarians can still eat things made from animal byproducts. I could be wrong though. </p>

<p>no. You can be a vegetarian. Like i’m a lacto vegetarian so I the only animal product I take in is milk. It’s okay to do so. Some of the people who oen PETA are vegetarians as well. But some PETA members are vegans who attempt to shut down anyone who is not vegan. They are the ones who give PETA and vegetarians a bad name.</p>

There was a giant court battle; the first person to register peta.org set up a “People for the Eating of Tasty Animals” website and got sued for the domain name. I don’t know how PETA won (on what grounds), but they have it now.</p>

<p>In my Advanced College Writing class, I had to read various texts for and against eating meat. The best (in my opinion) point meat had was overturned by the other side, so I can see the reason in it.</p>

<p>Over the years, my debate team had a seriously disproportionate amount of vegetarians and vegans. It was crazy, always yelling at people for eating poptarts and such.</p>

<p>Trademark law. If you have been operating under a name for a long time, then that domain name is yours by default. I can’t remember the exact code that so states, but I’ve looked it up before since I have relatives in online business.</p>

<p>I’m vegetarian on religious grounds, but I find hilarious to see PETA members and wanna-be-PETA members eating like plain lettuce.</p>

<p>^Well, it wouldn’t be “genetically mutated, garbage fed, assembly line method bred” if people didn’t eat meat. And just because terrible things are done to animals doesn’t mean you have to be a part of it.</p>

<p>PETA definitely has some things considered towards the radical end (this picture being one of them, though it’s not the first time this happened. A similar event occurred when a model did the same thing with Secretary of State Hilary Clinton attending). Their beliefs and methods can get out hand quite often.</p>

<p>Yeah, I used to be pretty interested in PETA (not a vegetarian, though I have significantly cut my meat intake since meeting my vegetarian friend) because I thought they would be a decent animal rights organization. I’ve since realized that PETA is definitely too radical for my taste, and they regularly twist/misrepresent facts or lead their followers to believe things that are either outright lies or very, very close.</p>

<p>In addition, I really don’t think I could legitimately support an animal rights organization that wanted to replace Punxsutawney Phil with a robot. Or had a serious beef with no-kill shelters. ALL no-kill shelters.</p>
