We recently saw Lawrence of Arabia at the CineramA, but one of my favorites was The Stunt man.

Loved the Stunt Man.

Or the Lion in Winter.

Lion in Winter is my all time favorite movie. Entire cast was superb.

Haven’t seen him in a movie in a while, but we did rewatch Lawrence of Arabia last year after our trip to Jordan. I always liked him.

Loved Lion in Winter. RIP

My Favorite Year is also a treat. O’Toole lampoons himself a bit, and is marvelous.

I always loved “My Favorite Year”. I understand it was loosely based on a real event, when Errol Flynn appeared on Sid Caesar’s Show of Shows.

He wa such a terrific actor.

My H used to watch him on Johnny Carson.
Apparently he was quite entertaining.

The only two movies I saw Peter O’Toole were “Troy” and “King Ralph.”

He was lauded for his portrayal of King Priam in Troy (with Brad Pitt), but I wasn’t really that impressed. I figured it was mostly reputation.

He was good in “King Ralph”, but it’s not exactly a great movie.

One of these days, I’ll have to see “Lawrence of Arabia.”

One of the greats… who unfortunately limited his career by spending waaay too much time drinking & carousing. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that… in doses.) David Letterman once asked him if he regretted anything about his career. He answered, ‘only French singers don’t regret anything.’ He looked sad, momentarily, when he said it.

RIP to a great actor who could have been among THE THE greats. Bet that wherever he is at this moment, there’s a fabulous raucous party going on in his honor, and he’s… well, he’s in heaven because of it.

We saw Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm at the CineramA. Stunning.
He was always my favorite out of that era of UK actors.
( although I also love Ian Holm)

I didn’t realize Lawrence took over two years to film!

He was a marvelous actor. I do consider him to be among “THE THE greats.” Lawrence of Arabia, The Stunt Man, My Favorite Year, Becket, The Ruling Class, The Lion in Winter (my favorite of his performances) - few screen stars have left or will leave behind portrayals as brilliant as O’Toole’s.

Quote from My Favorite Year, upon discovering the show was live:

“I’m not an actor, I’m a movie star!”

My favorite quote from My Favorite Year was, in responding to a character asking him why he’d had so many wives, “I didn’t marry them - they married me”.

The Lion in Winter, The Ruling Class, Goodbye Mr. Chips.

“I must have the Aquitaine!”

What a guy!!! RIP.

I can’t link cause it’s from a Seattle pi “blog”
But I remember this.

There was a nice piece on NPR today where they play part of an old interview where he recites a Shakespeare sonnet from memory. Here’s the original interview: [Revisiting Shakespeare’s Sonnets With Peter O’Toole : NPR](<a href=“Revisiting Shakespeare's Sonnets With Peter O'Toole : NPR”>Revisiting Shakespeare's Sonnets With Peter O'Toole : NPR)
