This is by first post, so I’ll try not to mess it up. I’m the father of a 18 year old senior whose applying for the 2011 class. My sons name is Jordan, Jordan is very fit, hes a varsity pole vaulter (136 last year) and I think he said he could bench 245 lbs. Jordan can rip off 60 push-up a minute, but when he tries to slow down and do the 2 minute thats required for the PFT he break down after about 25. Is the 2 minute requirement designed to make it harder? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any coments.

Cadence push-ups and cadence pull-ups are definitely more difficult that just ripping them out. When you just rip them out, you are able to use momentum; you can’t do that when they are done in a cadence mode.

The cadence is hard, but when you practice it isn’t too bad. During the summer, when they tell you to do push ups you do them as a team, you can’t just rip them out or you leave your shipmates in the dust. Just tell him to practice doing it with a cadence, it will make life easier.

i actually found it a little easier. whenever i just try to rip them out i get tired faster (usually around 50 is when i feel a good burn), but i was able to get the 60 max fairly easy on this one.
