Phony amazon order cancellation emails

anyone who gets a phony Amazon cancellation notification email should forward it- WITHOUT OPENING IT- to
stop-spoofing@amazon.com.

Thanks, I got one the other day and it was indeed spam. My husband, kids and I all use our Amazon account, so I thought it was something one of them ordered.

I have gotten a couple of those. Thanks!

My favorite Spam notice is the one with the subject “you’re Well’s Fargo accountis being shut” - seriously, if you’re gonna spoof, at least know spelling, syntax and exspecially that I don’t have a Wells Fargo account, nor have i ever (that one was a joke). :)

Thanks, menloparkmom. I’ve been getting them, too!

I called Amazon, because we keep getting them. The operator said to just ignore them, what they are trying to do is get you to click on a link, and there is an advertisement. He said he got them also, and it seems obvious it was bogus because they left out an “l” in the word “cancellation”, and that amazon wouldn’t be misspelling that.

I’ve been getting them for about two weeks now in the email account that hasn’t ever been used for Amazon orders. I just delete them.

I just got one saying, “An Important Message About Your Account”, but I don’t have an account with them.

I got one last week and, although I know better, I clicked on the link. It was an ad for a Canadian pharmacy or something. Luckily, it didn’t seem to harm my computer. I am kicking myself for even opening it, though, because I haven’t ordered anything from Amazon and it doesn’t go to that email account anyway.

I got another one this morning! I told my husband and kids to text me if they order something, I read that they send these phishing emails as order confirmations also.

I hadn’t gotten any of these, but I looked in spam folder & there they were!
I did note that the mail didn’t mention my user name as the actual Amazon emails do, but reference “customer”, that is a give away.
