I finished another doll today (her name is “Maizie”). I’m donating this one to the Phoenix Michigan Club for the annual fall raffle that raises scholarship money.

“Come on, Tom, give me some!” demands Elroy. He hates the tile floor because his paws slide around on it. So he really wanted that sauce. lol

Antwerp 2 weeks ago–a very pretty city center, completely rebuilt after WWII, destroyed by you-know-who…

In the first photo at the far right there is a fountain topped by a man throwing a hand. The town was terrorized by a giant who cut off the hands of sea captains who would not pay him a bribe. A Roman soldier beheaded the giant, cut of the giant’s hand, and threw it into the harbor. Antwerp literally means “hand-throw”. They have another statue of another giant who used to rob and beat up drunks late at night. Did not realize Belgium had such giant-problems back in the day!

The Cathedral of Our Lady, bottom photo has 4 paintings by Reubens, 3 of them are triptychs. They were hidden before the Nazi’s could loot them.

Wish I was better with my phone camera. The colors were quite vivid.

I didn’t know where to put this, but note the sticker price of the psych med my son takes. It’s an injection that’s good for 6 months. It’s gone up 5% since his last shot. He pays zero for it. It makes sense for the state to pay for it because it’s less expensive than even a three week hospital stay. It works really well!

It was such a pretty day that I took a quick drive down Sunset Cliffs to see the spring bloom after running errands.

When you need 3 copies, why not get 6! And don’t label them! Or label them with different names!

Really! I found so many copies of the same old photos. No names. On the other hand, I have almost no photos of my grandmother past the age of 21. I knew she didn’t like to have her photo taken, but I had no idea it was that bad. :frowning:

One thing I’m grateful to my stepmother for is that she asked my father to identify people in photos, and she wrote the names down in pencil on the back.

I have a wedding photo with “August 8, 1909” on the back, but no names!! So frustrating. I do photo books occasionally, and now as a result put people’s full names under their pictures. To us, it seems like overkill, but I am guessing it will help grandchildren.

Ever since I put together a book of my MIL’s pictures for my husband after she died, and found she was in almost NO pictures, I changed my policy of never wanting to be photographed.

I used to be reluctant to ask for staged photos, but now I am keenly aware you might NOT have another chance! i’m in the habit of writing not just a name, but a relationship too (so Henry Whatsis, Uncle of Mary Whatsis)

I wish I had listened to my mother when she asked me to do that for my camp photos. She definitely listed all the kids in my elementary school classes, but I was certain that I’d never forget the random kids in my bunk for two weeks at camp.
