My stitching group is focusing on toy projects this summer for gifts/giveaways/fall craft fair. I decided to try an amigurumi doll pattern and just finished this one:
I learned a lot. The pattern did not include the dress, so I had to figure that one out on my own, but I sew, so I just had to figure out how to size and crochet the top. The next one shouldn’t take so long.
Residents of some areas of Maine, including mine, have been given an extended deadline of July 15 to pay taxes due between April 15 and July 15. The reason was the bad storms we got. That’s great, but they did a very poor job of informing people. I saw a lot of posts from my local Facebook friends - “Whew, barely got my taxes done on time!” I posted about the extension last week, but not everybody saw it. Kind of frustrating. Oh, well. I’m taking advantage of it. Why give the government three months of interest on that money?
D is camel hopping through the Sahara tonight, sleeping under the stars. Says Morocco is one of the most beautiful places she’s been (and she’s been many unique places).
@Catcherinthetoast , we just got back from a Viking tulip cruise on Tuesday–were these pics taken this year? I as going to post some of our pics but you beat me to it!! We had only 1 rainy day on a 10 day cruise, then 1 rainy day in The Hague post-cruise. So lucky.
Keukenhof gardens has announced they are already completely sold out for this coming weekend. We were there last Saturday and hit the perfect storm: (a) 70s and sunny (b) weekend day and (c) peak bloom. Beyond stunning.
There is something so uplifting about spring tree blossoms! And garden flowers!
Lots of blooms on our big pear and crabapple trees in the backyard. The 70s/sunshine last week was grand. Until the snow cruelly covered them last night. Phew - all melted now.
