Is that smoke or fog?

This will rile up 1/2 our friend group, so I’m sending it out in the group text. We’ll see if I’m banned from Sunday’s viewing party :joy:

That is the famous Bay Area morning fog. His name is Karl and he drifts in from San Francisco from time to time

He is such a frequent visitor this time of year, that we even call this month Fogust.

@worriedmomucb - when D2 was in high school we spent a couple weeks during a couple of summers in Pebble Beach. D2 was horse showing hunter jumper horses there and the fog was fabulous for keeping the days cool for both the horses and the people!

Yeah, we had a “wonderful” time at the Frankfort airport, too. Not. We were supposed to have a wheelchair. Got off the plane from Budapest and…no wheelchair. We started asking emergently as we didn’t have a minute extra to kill and our gate was …not close. Suddenly, here comes this wonderful man on some big conveyance like a tractor pulling a cart with seats, helped us in and “flew” to our gate. Wherever he is, God bless him. Dh can walk with his cane so getting us there was fine.

My nighttime zebra safari shot. Jk, it’s my new pool float - the closet I can come to a silver steed on the Seine.

Sunset - Dubrovnik, Croatia style!

BTW - Montenegro was out of this world! Another place I’d like to go back to explore!

Too funny! I’m in the dining room having breakfast and wanted to take a pic of my view…when suddenly…(we’re not at the shore, it’s the port pilot coming aboard - I sure wasn’t expecting to see a man show up! Oh…good morning!)

I found this in my attic. Thought people would get a kick out of my fancy $2000 computer when I went to college. It cost about as much as a year’s worth of tuition too. (In state public tuition) I did have to cut out my SSN that they printed on the top of the form!

what year? what school?

It was the strongly suggested computer for 1990 Virginia Tech engineering freshmen. I believe my brother 3 years later had a 486. Maybe it was a 386. But it was much better than mine. Mine wouldn’t run the airport design class software at all, and his could run one simulation in 90 minutes! Supposedly the one in the computer labs would take 8 hours.

I am smiling b/c while I didn’t take engineering classes, I was running my dissertation data using IBM punch cards in 1981! The department finally got some dumb terminals when I was running a few extra analyses, but I still had to go up to the med school library to get the printouts!
