Shenandoah Valley, kids sledding. Not super pretty but most snow we’ve had in a while.

Thanks for sharing. You’re just up the highway from my kid in Lexington. She hasn’t sent us photos yet but was looking forward to the snow.

We got about an inch and then freezing rain last night. Woke up to a lot of ice covered trees and grass. Luckily the power stayed on, it’s windy and cold here in SW VA!

Thank you for sharing. All the photos from SW VA make me happy since my D is in Lexington. She called me on her walk home from a sorority event last night… her car was snowed in!… and I could say “I’ve seen the snow and ice even though you haven’t bothered to send me photos yet!” Haha

Took it this evening as I was feeding the horses on my farm. This fox had mange (a certain and painful death) but I was able to treat it (first time I’ve done that). Look at that bushy tail! (The mange made it hairless this Spring/summer)

Wow!! How did you manage to treat a wild fox? Amazing job. You have a very kind heart!

You have to set up a feeding station and get them used to eating there. I already knew where their den was so that’s where I put the food. Then, with a little help from an anonymous person I got the right dose of Ivermectin in syringes. I dosed raw meatballs once a week for a month. (The mites that cause mange hatch out weekly, which is why you have to treat for a month.)

There’s a website called something like “Mange by Mail” with instructions and where you can get Ivermectin.

I wasn’t so sure people would think it was a good idea feeding wildlife, but a wildlife rehabilitator I spoke with thanked me. She said mange is the leading cause of death for foxes, and it was a horrible way to go. I am really happy I was able to do this!
