GD1 hard at work. Notice they are not real screens. It’s not going to take her long to figure it out.

We had great weather(for a change) for opening day at Fenway. As a guy that shaves his head the luxury box saved me from sunburn. LOL!

Ah, from the comfort of a padded booth. Beats a stadium every time. Plus, you’re not forced to actually watch the game.

LOL. We like to support the nearby sports bar. Plus they had live music last night. Was the best of both worlds.

*eta- and the braves bats finally came alive yesterday!

LOVE the El Tiante sign–there’s a guy who should have enjoyed HOF induction during his lifetime. His stats compare very favorably with other pitchers already in the hall. Very sad.

Years ago two co-workers and I won Tim Wakefield’s charity golf tournament with Luis Tiant as our celebrity fourth. He was the nicest guy. One of the prizes we won was a Red Sox putter. They were right handed putters, but I’m a lefty, like El Tiante, so he autographed mine.

We’ve been in NM and AZ the past two days and have seen at LEAST 30 dust devils. Sometimes several at once. They are fascinating to me. The pic is a screen shot from a video so not great, but they were very cool irl. My favorite dust devil was when I was out in the woods with my coworkers, and we were looking out over a large recent severely burned area. A dust devil appeared and picked up black ash from the fire and it totally looked like a tornado. I grew up in tornado alley and it made my heart race even though I knew it wasn’t dangerous lol.

@GKUnion , what a GREAT story, thanks for sharing it.

I remember in 1972 when Tiant came up from AAA (Sox signed him off the scrap heap and he went to AAA to rehab), a bunch of guys in the family went to a game at Fenway that he pitched. Uncles, cousins, etc. We brought along our 80+ year old great uncle, who would sit at home and listen to Sox games on his 1930s era cabinet radio. The tears of joy on my great-uncle’s face are something I will never forget. Needless to say Luis was masterful.

That game also featured a rookie right fielder named Dwight Evans.

Hiking and rockhounding adventures at the Rockhound State Park and in Tucson. Loved all the mica in Tucson, it was like walking on a trail of glitter and the rocks were so sparkly. The aerial image of the state park is interesting. Wiki explains the volcanic geology. Rockhound State Park - Wikipedia

Sitting at my kitchen table, writing emails, with a squirrel buddy 2 feet away. We’ve spent the past 15 minutes together (unbeknownst to the squirrel). Cheery on an otherwise cold, damp, gray, day.

Campsite on Antelope Island

I had no idea that island existed, until one day we had some time to waste before our flight from SLC and we took a trip over. It was so cool.

Made it to our destination and saw lots of California poppies on our last day driving. It was cool to see patches of them way up on the mountainsides as well as in Antelope Valley.

Was spreading mulch on Saturday. What a beautiful day.

A little beauty in the backyard and the view from the driveway.

My husband’s favorite flower is the Ca poppy. The screensaver on my phone is a field of lupine and poppies. Thanks for sharing.
