Beautiful viewpoint - and weather! Any good restaurant suggestions in Wellington?
Didn’t eat in town
Coming in late to comment, but I do miss Munich. Lived there for five years and loved Christmastime.
We installed new windows in our home last year and I insisted on a fully opening Pella window in our east facing bathroom because it has the greatest sunrise view. The extravagant expense was worth it this morning.
I always seem to get the people with big heads and big hairdos sitting in front of me. I wondered if this person brought their dippidy doo with them to get that style.

I have undertaken a silversmithing journey. I told my daughter that I was interested in learning and she bought me a silversmithing/jewelry making lesson for Christmas. This is one of three rings I made during the lesson.
So I purchased the equipment I needed to get started on my own and, don’t laugh, below is the result of my first solo effort. I didn’t want to waste material on my first attempt (the price of silver is astronomical right now, so I used the scrap silver left over from my lesson to make a back plate by soldering several pieces together. I hoped it would be big enough for one of the bird stones I had made from agate to be set on. I melted the first bezel (the silver band the stone is set in) bc soldering is hard! But I can reuse the metal for something. The second time, I had to try two times to solder the bezel and stone to the backing, but finally was successful without melting anything. I then glued a red jasper beak, and two tiny silver wire legs on. The mess at the bottom is from me trying to use a metal tree branch stamp to have something for the bird to perch on. Then I glued on a tiny silver disc for an eye.
I think I probably put in much more than forty hours into this weird thing. Cutting, shaping, and polishing the stones, then the silverwork. I showed my husband the final product (after showing him the thing a million times along the way). He said “It’s coming along!” I yelled “It’s finished!” ![]()

. I wanted it to look like what it was, my first attempt! Anyway:
I think it is very creative and artistic! Nicely done ![]()
