Such a deal- save one cent!! Oh, and their “sale” price was still about 10% higher than another nearby supermarket.

Well well, after polishing off the suet feeder a couple of nights ago, look who returned to destroy and empty the tube feeder……

You may need to rename them “raccoon feeders”.

I know racoons don’t make good pets but, gosh, they’re SO cute, especially the little ones.

H keeps begging (half joking) for a pet raccoon - and younger s eggs him on! I refuse and it’s also against our city code. So now he makes ChatGPT pictures for me…

Happy trails to you! So many take off paths. Planes heading north are further away and bank right. Planes heading east are closer and bank left to take a swing around Point Loma. A handful every day head straight out west over the ocean.

That is my guess, too. What a beauty!!

Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand. We had a morning walk through the rain forest to a viewing spot on the Waiho River. Then in the afternoon we waited anxiously to see if the helicopter company would be able to do more than land at the foot of the glacier due to rapidly shifting weather. Luckily the fog cleared and we had a crystal clear time at the snow field above the glacier. The Franz Josef Glacier (Kā Roimata o Hine Hukatere) is considered one of the steepest and fastest-moving glaciers in the world. It descends rapidly from the Southern Alps (3,000m) to a temperate rainforest only 300m above sea level.

Here’s a photo of my dog that looks like a raccoon to me.

And an update on my jewelry making endeavor. These are all the pendants I’ve made so far in the past few months excluding the couple I already posted. The bezels look a little wonky on a few as I haven’t done the final setting of the stones yet. I’m going to attempt to sell them online.

Can’t seem to post the pic. I’ll try in a second post.

I’m so jealous! We didn’t get to go to Franz Glacier bc of the weather. We did see it later in the day, but we wanted to do the helicopter thing.

It was up in the air whether or not the day’s flights would be able to make it to the glacier, so touch and go. All three times of flights did make it that day, very exciting.

Skip this if you’re not a LOTR fan! We did the Half Day Tour of Middle Earth out of Queenstown and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Wonderful tour whether you’re a casual viewer of the movies or an in-depth aficionado. The tour was part in-depth visits to LOTR movie locations, and part wonderful scenic tour of the greater Queenstown area. Our guide Benji was informative and accommodating and made the tour a delight. We went to numerous places in a relatively short amount of time. Benji basically had all the movies memorized and could quote any scenes. He also had tons of backlot stories about the filming and actors.

Just a few of the locations we saw:
