Roses are not what they used to be; husband has worked hard to at least keep them alive. The few blooms do smell wonderful.
Wow, we still have snow in our yard. But it’s melting quickly.
Something I hadn’t seen before - on our Premium Economy flight on Quantas back from Sydney, the seat screen had a virtual sommelier - with extensive descriptions of possible wines on the flight (I doubt they carried them all).
You could also screen chat with people in other seats, apparently. Since the only person I knew was sitting next to me, I didn’t try it.
How was premium economy for such a long flight?
Would you do such a long journey again?
Both Delta going down and Quantas coming back were comfortable enough. In both cases, I was able to recline enough and put my feet up and get some sleep; husband more so. I felt there was plenty of leg room. I think the A380 was somewhat more comfortable than the 350. It had compartments under the window that fit purses, pillows, etc.
I might do such a long flight again but would need a stellar destination. That didn’t involve long long bus trips.

We just missed a dinner at a highly regarded restaurant which had elk (elk chops) as one of the few menu entree options (Branzino fish was another option which I wanted to try). Elk is (according to a quick Google search) woodsy, tender, rich, and mildly sweet.
I hear you on the long bus trips.
We did a river cruise that included a long bus ride to and from the ship. Although I liked the trip, I don’t think I would undertake another that you had to spend so much time on a bus
In looking over my photos, there is a very large percentage that has blurry trees and window reflections. So we were able to see the views and do appreciate that, but one of my trip objectives was photography. So I have a lot of review and editing to do. And likely deleting!
First swing through the trip photos! Huka Falls - one of the most visited natural attractions in New Zealand (our tour leader said that is because it’s right off a major roadway). The Waikato River, normally 100m wide, narrows to just 15m wide as it passes through a hard volcanic canyon. The volume of water flowing through often approaches 220 cubic metres per second, making it one of the highest flowing waterfalls in the world.
I would love to try Elk. The restaurant we were at also has wild boar bolognese, which is also an excellent dish.

D visited us and stayed for dinner today. As she prepared to leave we turned on the yard lights for her (it was light out when she arrived). She pointed out the window and said “ummm, there’s a raccoon raiding your suet feeder!!”
