What would be the best path to becoming a Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist at UVA? Like what should I major in and etc.?

There are some other colleges that offer direct entry programs from high school. That can save some time, and ensures that you will be automatically admitted to that college’s graduate program if you keep up your grades.

If you want to attend an undergrad college like UVa, I’d take a look at the prerequisite courses and other recommended to enter into various graduate programs, and the curriculum of those grad programs. That will help you decide which undergrad major may be most applicable. I think you will probably find it would be biology or a related field at UVa.

Here you go!

[Kinesiology: Undergraduate » Areas of Study » Curry School of Education](http://curry.virginia.edu/academics/areas-of-study/kinesiology-undergrad)

I’m still a bit confused. I would need to major in Kinesiology then go to graduate school for it. Which graduate school track would I need to go through to become a PT?

Are you asking how one becomes a physical therapist, in general? I’m not sure I understand your question.

I’m not an expert in the field, but my understanding is that there are PT assistant programs (such as a 2 year program) and Physical therapist programs that typically require a master’s degree.

[APTA[/url]

for instance, Va. Commonwealth U. has a program.

New students in the US will need a doctorate degree (instead of a masters) in Physical Therapy in order to take the licensing exam. That is typically a 3 year grad program, although it can be a 6 year combined bachelor-doctorate degree program at a few universities that let you enter a program from high school.
