physics help!!

what does an i with a > at the top mean? also what does a J with a > mean? does it have something to do with direction?

this may help im not sure. http://selland.boisestate.edu/jbrennan/physics/notes/Introduction/physics_symbols.htm

i is just another form of x
j is just another form of y
k is just another form of z

the i,j,k system is used with 3 dimensions because u cant measure the angle in 3-d

ijk are actually vectors themselves, it’s just their magnitude equals one and they are directional, but yeah, you use them to work in 3 dimensions.
I ought to know, i just screwed up a physics test about them

You can measure angle in 3-d, just not in a way that will give you something like a polar system in rectangular, look up steradian

they’re unit vectors. if you’re dealing with force, i means 1 N in the x direction, or whatever your unit is (dynes, newtons, w/e).
