PI Day - What's Your Favorite Pie?

I hate math, but love PIE!!!

Saw this and thought it would be fun to chat about. YOUR FAVORITE PIE.

I will always choose a fruit pie over non-fruit. So I’m not the one in Ohio searching for Oreo Pie. My most favorite, CHERRY. Peach a strong second.

Beef pot pie?! That map got us completely wrong ! Definitely apple :apple: :green_apple: :pie:! After all, we are the apple kingdom of the US!

Chocolate cake.

OK, I prefer cake to pie, but if I must eat pie, I’ll choose cherry or French silk.

(My brother called cherry pie “red lump” pie when he was little, so we still call it that today.)

I was going to say any pie - sweet or savory - because I love pie.

That is until I looked at the map. Frito pie?!?? Ummm, no

Ha! I was going to say I would be hard pressed to find a pie I didn’t like - until I looked at that map. Vinegar Pie? What the blank? A lot of those I have never heard of, but the sound of them make me want to post the green vomiting emoticon.

I like most all NORMAL pies that you’d find on a dessert menu

I’m not sure this map is legit :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
It says tomato pie for New Jersey. That’s actually a pizza, not a real pie.

I’m having a hard time selecting a single pie but key lime, cherry and peach are among my favorites.

I’m with you! And do not agree with the pie listed for my state.

ETA: my favorites are key lime and peach.

Is this map satire or something??? Texas is NOT chicken pot pie, it’s PECAN PIE.

My personal favorite is coconut cream or peach. I do enjoy savory pies as well. Well, any pie actually, though I rarely eat them.

My mom’s apple pie.

My Grandma’s specialty (and my Grandpa’s favorite) was apricot pie. Hers was so good! So I’d have to say that is my favorite, but mostly because of the warm memories associated with it.

I’m in Florida. Never heard of, “Aloo,” pie. Had to Google it.

Key Lime is probably my favorite. I also like pecan pie and chess pie.

Cherry and blueberry are tied in my book. I love baking pies!

My older brother always wanted lemon meringue pie for his birthday. My mom was really good at making it, getting the meringue just right.

Hula pie from Duke’s in Hawaii.
Mud pie is also very tasty.

I think this map is trying to indicate that the further north you live, the more unusual your tastes might become. Frito Pie, Spaghetti Pie, Cottage Pie…represented by Montana, South Dakota, and Maine. Of course, there are some other Frito (or Frito Chili) pie states, along with ricotta pie and bean pie and the unknown to me derby and aloo pies. Of course, all those other pies I just mentioned are also new to me.

But as far as my favorite pie? My mom’s banana cream pie with graham cracker crust. There are even true stories of battles over the pie, which I could potentially share if others were interested.

Pecan! Was the first pie I had and fell in love with! Still make mini pecan pies for thanksgiving every year…

Apple! I made this one for Pi day!

This thread is reminding me of some old favorites I’ve not had in years. @Hoggirl, I’m going to make a chess pie sometime soon.

I’m surprised none of the northern states have strawberry-rhubarb. So good. When visiting family in Montana we’d get it fresh from my cousin’s garden and bake a pie.

Shoo-fly pie anyone?
