Picking a CAVCOMP Laptop: HELP!

Hey Wahoos, I need some advice!

I’m trying to decide on what laptop to get for the E-school and the choice has come down to

a 15.6 in 5.7 lb lenovo: 7 hr battery life

vs

a 14.1 in 3.9 lb lenovo: 3-5 hr battery life

Both have pretty much the same specs

From trying the heavier one in my backpack, I don’t really notice much of a difference between the the two weights, but I wonder if the additional width / bulkiness would present a problem with desktop, lab areas, or just sitting around outside with it.

I am planning to have a 23" monitor to use in my dorm room with the laptop.

Any help or personal experiences would be a great help! Thanks!

Most people get the bigger screen to watch movies, but since you’ll have your own monitor anyways it shouldn’t make a difference which one you get. Are batteries still not under warranty??

Yes, there is a three year warranty on the batteries with cavcomp. FWIW, battery life on the T420s is published at 4-6hrs. Your personal experience will probably be less then the published time with both models depending on what you are doing, and not a huge difference between the two models.
