Placement Exams with Qualifying AP Scores

If I have a 5 on an AP exam in chemistry, for example, would I still need to take the placement exam for chemistry? I’ve tried searching on the UVA website, and although I couldn’t find a direct answer it would appear that it’s implied that taking the placement exam is not necessary.

Also, if anybody else knows the answer to this it would be awesome. For AP scores, is it necessary that I go through the whole process of spending money to send my scores through College Board or would it be acceptable to print out the webpage that shows me my scores and bring those to orientation?

Big thanks for the help!

I believe the placement test for chemistry is recommended, not required

Official score report is needed for AP credits.

At orientation for SEAS we were informed that simply printing out the page that we, as students, see on the College Board AP Score website is sufficient. What also works is simply submitting the final transcript if that also contains the AP scores (which is what I did, my high school uses Parchment.com which contains all exam scores on it).
