Anyone here do teacher turn around day or are planning to? For what teacher? Im thinking about doing it as a senior for the bio or chem teacher or something although nothing is ever covered on these days…but still

What is teacher turn-around day? I have never heard of it.

Neither have I.

My school has it every May. It’s one day where seniors pick their favorite teacher (or class or just a teacher w/e) and get to be them for that day and teach all of their 4 classes. Some teachers dont allow it because they dont like the waste of a day, especially AP teachers, but a lot of them do. They just follow the teachers lesson plans and have to dress like the teacher or some people are administrators. Like they have the principal and vice principal as student and the kids use the loudspeaker all day and they are actually ALLOWED to give out valid detentions and punishments for your perm record for stupid things Some teachers stay in their rooms and watch and act as students and are critical, some just leave for the day and check in with the student teaching at lunch. It can become chaotic, but it’s fun…

I may be required to do so as part of a Spanish capstone project because the real teacher is too tired to actually complete the work! It will be interesting teaching first-years for three weeks.

That sounds so cool! Are there requirements for doing it, though? I could see why some dumba$$es would want to do it so they can abuse their authority…

To me?
No, just that one has to have completed all Spanish work to do so and the seniors leave.

Well, it’s mostly dumbasses to be honest. Lots of kids send kids to the office and give lunch detentions out just to be jerks. but never to me or anything…usually they punish their friends…
i might wanna do it next year…i actually liked doing it when we had to for a health project, so yeah…its pretty cool and most teachers allow it…maybe computer class would be fun.

for us, no requirement. just have to be a senior.

(Btw that was to logisticslord)

(This is, too: ) That’s kinda stupid then.

I won’t have the power to be an *******, but I would not do that for fun anyway since I actually value the teaching.

well yeah but if the teacher knows you are an idiot, they wont let you teach for them. unfortunately, the administration usually just lets randoms do it, same with gym class, but for academic classes, the teachers tend to pick more responsible kids.

A kid teaching gym? That would stink-he sends all of the geeks to detention because they are not playing basketball well enough? There are some flaws that need to be fixed, since that means most anyone can teach the classes for the day. I would just skip so as to avoid the idiocy.

well, no, they couldnt do that…and kids NEVER do it to kids they dont know/aren’t cool with…they do it for fun with friends usually. and obviously if there is no reason, the administrative students won’t be able to fill out the paperwork for a detention

sounds fun, actually.

I would not want to be in a class run by a kid…too many enemies here.
