So many stockings!! Lucky you!
Well, DH got the tree up and I finished the room and cleaned up. Sigh.
It’s hard to get into the Christmas spirit when it looks like this outside:
It looks absolutely gorgeous, never mind the weather! It could go on a “Hygge” website on F-book that I follow.
I mean, I’d just ditch the holiday decor and go sit out on the patio.
Curious do you find you favor the cabin decor vibe or the Arizona place vibe - or is there a time/place for both??? Quite different!
I’m a bit happier in ME, DH is a bit happier in AZ, so it’s a good compromise for us. We get to experience two very different climates and cultures every year, and part of the year we’re closer to our son. He and DIL drove up to the cabin from MD three times this summer which made me very happy.
@ChoatieMom I love your dining room chairs!
Me too!!
We don’t celebrate Christmas so instead I will share the Hotel del Coronado’s tree. They are honoring old Hollywood, and Some Like it Hot in particular.
@ChoatieMom we share a similar, perhaps even hotter, reality. We just accept and revel in the absurd contradictions!!
Enjoy and embrace the good conditions - better then being embraced by icy conditions any day of the week.
I’m getting there. Most of the ornaments are on the tree. Some of the decorations are out. I had to take a break so I could package up things to get in the mail! But here is my start:
I grew up in Florida. I don’t struggle with a warm Christmas
We in HI are used to green Christmases!
The carpet people should be here in 10 min. They’d said we were first in the 8-11 window since they were SUPPOSED to come between 8-11 Wednesday, so you’d think they’d get here before 10:45, but I digress.
In any case, I felt safe enough to at least drag the tree down from the attic to the top floor. I’ll put it on the main floor once they leave. And then start decorating - after I put back everything in the den.
Ugh. My photo is struggling without wifi
I tried to post a couple pictures of “other people’s” decor, and the upload took forever.
Wonder if that’s a CC issue because I was able to upload same pics elsewhere.
Let’s see, here’s the Fashion Valley Mall tree.
Re warm weather climate decorating, many people wrap their palm trees with lights.
This is the ceramic tree my MIL made. It had a base, but I wanted to clean it up some and surprise H. It seemed fitting to put it out this year since she passed away in the spring. We are going to get replacement thingys to fill in the gaps and find the base in the attic. I know it’s up there.
I asked him when she made it. He said when he was little, so it’s 50 years old!
