It says that plus dollars from the dining plan can be used at UVA convenience stores. Can they be used on non-food items (like toiletries) or must they be used for food? I’m hoping that I can save them to restock non-food items. Thanks.

I’m pretty sure you can use them on anything but someone else would need to chime in. When I was at UVA 2006-11 plus and cav dollars were basically interchangeable. You can always stock up on bottled water otherwise.

Can’t use plus dollars on items other than food =/

Check out Cavalier Advantage. Funds you put on Cav Advantage can be used at copiers, laundry machines, the bookstore, vending machines, as well as places like The Castle or The Pav for food. They are much more flexible then plus dollars. Also, they don’t expire. The money is also on your ID card. IMO when you are out of plus dollars it makes more sense to add funds to Cav Advantage. We keep funds on there for vending, copiers, etc. anyway.

There is also a CVS on the corner where you can get all your non food items. Prices are reasonable and it is fairly well stocked.
You of course would need cash or a credit card.
