Police Academy Drop Out - Wanting to Go to College

Dear all,
I originally thought the police force was the route I wanted to go for my career. I applied to the police academy and attended the school for two years. I recently, realized that becoming an officer wasn’t for me. I really want to apply to attend one of the top 70 colleges in the U.S. and am very unsure how the admissions teams would feel about my dropping out of the police academy. Would this look bad to the admissions board? I am not sure if they treat this as if I am a university drop out? Also which colleges might be more lenient towards someone who is a drop out like myself? Out of the top 70. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for the help!

Why top 70? That’s highly arbitrary.

Lots of people decide to transfer out of programs that they start out in. This is not a big deal at all.

What do you think you want to major in now?

How much can you afford to pay?

Will you qualify for any financial aid?

You should use the SuperMatch tool on the left edge of this page. Pull out your HS transcript and your old ACT/SAT scores and see what types of schools are realistic for you. Simpy declaring “top 70” without any foundational evidence to back that up isn’t useful. Good luck
