I just watched the dash cam and body cam footage of this incident on On Patrol Live on the REELZ Channel. If they post the footage on their website I’ll share it here. I’m glad everyone walked away uninjured.

Here is a link to the coverage of the dash cam and body cam footage. Thankfully the auto pilot function has a collision avoidance feature that made the potentially extremely dangerous maneuver by police less dangerous.

At one point you’ll get a feel for how fast the Honda Pilot was going when it passed the officer on the left.

For those that don’t use or visit X, here is the website for the program that showed the footage of the Honda Pilot going over 100 mph because the vehicles computer system took over and the 18-year-old couldn’t get the Pilot to stop.

Towards the top of the page are 3 videos titled “Triple Play.” The video I’m talking about is the Triple Play all the way to the right.

A bit tangential, but, the International Association of Chiefs of Police convention is in Boston from Saturday until Tuesday. I think the city will be pretty safe this weekend.

The conference generally brings in more than 16,000 officers

Just a small thing but we went out to dinner for my husband’s birthday with my daughter, grandson (4 1/2) and granddaughter (4 weeks). There were some local police officers eating at the other table. My grandson was very interested in them. When they left he waved at them and smiled and my daughter said “Have a nice evening.” A few minutes later one of the police officers came back inside and gave my grandson several stickers. He was thrilled and has been talking about the nice policeman all week! He didn’t have to go out and get the stickers and come back in but he took the time and did it! Good job!

Perhaps an alternative career for those who love animals but don’t want to be studying science?

“There’s not training manual for getting moose out of the ice,” said Environmental Conservation Police officer, Lt. Robert Higgins, in a video statement recounting the event.
