Planning on taking this class. Thoughts? Difficulty? Amt. of reading? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The professor, Robert Fatton, has a fine reputation as a teacher and is prominent in his field. I haven’t checked, but I imagine the course should fulfil the “nonWestern” requirement.

to jingle: you’re right it does count towards the non-western perspective requirement.

the class was really good… i did all of the assigned reading but in retrospect it wasn’t necessary to do well. the material was really interesting and engaging. i loved the lectures. i saved all my notes from this class. when i took the class it was just two finals, a 10 page research paper and your discussion (participation grade, etc)… not so bad.

content wise, i think the 2nd half of the semester was less specific than i thought it would be…the only thing i thought could be improved upon… but the professor is great and the course is definitely worth taking!!

Thanks to both! Very useful info.

This is a great class (I took it with Waldner fall semester 2009).

I highly recommend T.A. Marina Omar.

I’m taking it this Fall, also. I heard that Professor Fatton is amazing.

I too will be taking this class in the fall.
