6 and 7 per algebra ( waste or time, as 7 was all review)
8 algebra
Summer geometry
9 alg 2
Summer precalculus
10 calc ab (school req, might just self study bc)
11 stats/bc
12 ???

6th pre-algebra (1 yr ahead)
7th algebra 1 (1 yr ahead)
8th algebra 2 (1 yr ahead)
9th geometry (1 yr ahead)
10th pre-calculus (1 yr ahead) and AP statistics (elective)
11th AP calculus AB (1 yr ahead)
12th AP calculus BC/3 (1 yr ahead)

Normal sequence would be everything until geometry being pushed up a year, i.e. geometry would be 10th. Instead of precalc students take trig and college algebra; finishing off with honor calc instead of AP. Normally no one take calc 3.

Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using CC

7th - Algebra 1, Geometry the summer after
8th - Algebra 2
9th - Precalculus
10th - Calculus AB at school and Calculus II at uni

For the future,
11th - Calculus III at the uni. Calculus BC and AP stats at school and maybe at least a semester of independent study, which I will use to study differential equations
12th - Independent study. Not sure what I will use it for. I’m thinking of studying mathematics for physics or linear algebra and more differential equations. Or maybe go the pure math route and take some analysis and topology.

So let’s see. Calculus 3 is a college sophomore subject which I’ll take as a high school junior, which puts me 3 to 4 years ahead of the game.

8th grade is the first time you can be in different math classes. I’m horrible at math and did poorly on a placement test, I was actually on an IEP until the end of 9th grade. So this is how it went for me.

8th: Pre-Alegbra, with a semester of a class called Math Study Skills as well.
9th: Algebra I
10th: Geometry
11th: Alegbra II
12th: Discrete Math Honors (my only honors math class). Discrete was perfect for me because it was all about logic and less about numbers.

If you do well on the placement test, you start out with Algebra I in 8th Grade, usually take Pre-Calculus in 11th, and then take Calculus or Stats in 12th. A few shining stars can actually place into Geometry 8th grade, wherein they can take Calc AND Stats.

For someone who starts out in Pre-Algebra, you’ll usually take Discrete or another class called AFM (Advanced Functions and Modeling, although we call it Addition for Morons), though some seniors still take Pre-Cal for reasons I cannot fathom.

So basically, I’m not behind per se because about half of the students are in the same boat I am, though I am behind when compared to most of my friends who are currently in AP Stats or Calculus.

8th: Algebra I Honors
9th: Algebra II Honors
10th: Geometry Honors (the district puts Algebra II before Geometry for some unknown reason)
11th: Pre-Calculus Honors (planned)
12th: Calculus AB & AP Statistics (planned)

8th grade: pre algebra
9th grade: algebra
10th grade: geomerty
11th grade(current): alegbra 2 (adv. algebra) and pre-calculus
12th grade: i signed up for AP Calculus ab

7th grade: Algebra 1
8th grade: Alegebra 1 again (because i didn’t pass)
9th grade: Geometry
10th grade: Geomtry again (yet again, I didn’t pass)
10th grade summer: planning to take Algebra 2 in math program
11th grade: Precalc
12th grade: AP Calc

9th Algebra l (current year)
10th Algebra ll and Geometry
11th Trigonometry
12th Calculus

I may take statistics in 11th or 12th, but I’m not sure which one.

7- algebra 1
8- geometry
9- algebra 2
10- pre cal (test out of college algebra)
And I’m not too sure about the rest :)

7- Pre-Algebra
8- Algebra I
9- Geometry, but doubled up and took Algebra II
10- Pre-Calc
11- AP calc
Summer between- Calc B/C (Maybe)
12- either AP Calc B/C or multi and stat

7th grade- Pre-Algebra
8th grade- Algebra I & Geometry
9th grade- Honors Algebra II
10th grade- Honors Pre-Calc
11th grade- AP Calc AB
12th grade- AP Calc BC & Calc II (which I’m pretty sure is multi); maybe AP Stat

That’s pretty much every math class in the school. So, yeah.

7th - Pre-Algebra
8th - Algebra
9th - Honors Geometry
10th - Honors Algebra 2
11th - Honors Pre Calculus
12th - AP Calculus AB and/or AP Statistics

7th - Pre-Algebra I
8th - Algebra
9th - Honors Geometry
10th - Honors Algebra II
11th - Honors Pre Calc
12th - Calc AB and AP Stats

7th = Pre-Algebra Honors
8th = Algebra 1 Honors
9th = Geometry Honors
10th = Algebra 2/Trig Honors
11th = IB Math HL and AP Calc AB
12th = IB Math HL II (will take AP Calc BC exam)

good luck to me :)

Uh

8-Integrated Algebra
9-Geometry
10-Algebra2/Trig
11-Pre-Calc
12-AP Calc AB

This is the “advanced” track that about 20 kids out of the 450 in my junior class end up sticking to. I wish they would start us in Algebra I in 6th or 7th so you could get to Calc III by graduation:

7th: Pre-Alg
8th: Alg. I
9th: Geometry Honors
10th: Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry Honors (Alg 2)
11th: Pre-Calc Honors
12th Calc BC

7th-pre alg
8th-alg 1
9th- geometry honors and algebra 2 honors
10th- precalc honors and AP statistics
11th- AP calc AB and AP calc BC
12th- Multivariable Calculus/Diff EQ (university)

6th- algebra 1
7th- geometry
8th- algebra 2
9th- Ib Math 1
10th- Ib Math 2
11th- Ib Math 3
12th- ???

I’m not sure what to do for my senior year. The counselors recommended taking stats but i heard from other people that the class is a complete joke. ib math 3 is the highest class that my school offers. Would not taking math at school for the 4th year and just doing online courses be frowned upon by colleges?

6th- Pre-algebra
7th- Algebra 1-2
8th- Geometry 1-2
9th- Algebra 5-6 Honors
10th- Pre-calc Honors
11th- AP Calc AB
12th- AP Stats (we had multivariable calc, but it’s too hard and i’m not that into math- still got into Duke though lol)

This is the strangest thread ever. I hope someone is getting something out of this. Much of it just sounds like bragging.

Why?
