Hey guys! I’ve been following this page for a couple days now. Based off what everyone is saying I have a strong feeling they’re going to release their decisions on Friday. I haven’t posted anything since last year during the transfer season I was checking this website religiously for all my schools and spending a lot of time on here (no shame, this process is greuling). I saw some comments for stats and I posted mine below to start (I usually distract myself when waiting to hear back from schools but with the quarantine forcing me to stay indoors I’m trying anything that will keep me from checking my email every 30 seconds)
GPA: 3.82
SAT: 1250 (although I don’t think they heavily consider this)
Currently attending a LA community college, but attended a top private institution in Boston and left
Major: Psychology
Nothing huge to note like curing cancer or corona, but I worked in the Psych field as a behavior therapist for children with autism.
Was selected to present my independent research for the Honors Transfer Council of California Honors Conference that has ties (?) with Pomona, which was the reason I applied in the first place because without that I felt that it would be a for sure rejection.
Wrote my essays on trying to be an OB/GYN and opening non profit clinics in LA.
Not too sure what else to write without sounding all hoity toity.
Nope! I just got scared cause you mentioned the interview haha. No I wasn’t contacted for an interview or anything, but my counselor told me for most schools that usually do interviews for undergrad they don’t really do interviews for transfers. Hope that helps!!
Interviews was moved down from “Important” to “Considered” in their CDS report this year, which also shows that they do not consider “Demonstrated Interest” in their decisions. From what AOs have said the past couple of years, an interview might help if the applicant comes across really strong and provides something not in the application, but they really understand that not everyone is able to interview (only about 1/10 of applicants do) so they said they don’t hold it against you if you don’t have one.
