Poor prelim results, any chances? :(

Hi, I’m pretty new to this forum, though I have been lurking around CC and Brightsparks for quite some time.

These are the schools that I am looking at currently:

MIT, Harvey Mudd, Caltech, CMU, and possibly UIUC.

I know that these schools are considered high reaches for almost everyone, and with my poor prelim results:

GP - C
H2 Phys/ Chem - D
H2 Hist - D
H2 Maths - B

My chances are probably extremely slim. Furthermore, I’m female, so I don’t have the option of using my A-level results unless I take a gap year :/

What I do have going for me, though, is my ECs (and maybe my SATs):

SAT1: 2150 (CR: 770, M: 720, WR: 660) first sitting

ECs:
Did 2 research programmes in secondary school and JC
Won Gold Award in SSEF, represented SG in the Intel ISEF and won 4th Place
1 of 2 students selected nationwide to participate in the International Summer School for Young Physicists

I did great in junior high (from an IP school, top 10%) but I totally slacked off in JC, so I think this puts my application in an even more unfavourable light, since my grades show a downward trend.

Do I stand any chance at all? :(

so how’d it go?
